Left and right confusion
If you can't immediately tell your left from your right without using some kind of trick, you're not alone.
“The one in your left hand!” “No, your other left!”
It seems silly. After all, it’s not like we’re new to the concept; we’ve been using our left and right hands all our lives. Yet we sometimes don't know, some of us more often than others.
I was driving with my husband a few days back and Because I was familiar with the route I acted as his navigator in the streets of Lagos
Turn left here,” I said and he start making the turn. “No, no!” I shouted. “Turn left!”
I am turning left,” he said
“Ah, yes, so you are,” hmmm. “Well, I meant right
That was me throughout the drive, I just had to start pointing and using landmarks.
Then he brought up the issue of how he has noticed I can't tell right from left and vise verse, well I noticed but I didn't realize it was an issue, it isn't though but it's something I have, Telling our left from our right isn’t as easy for me as I am supposed to believe.
I may have brought up techniques to identify the left from the right but It appears however that these techniques remain fallible and fail to combat this issue in all cases.
The medical term is simply
“Left and Right Confusion”. And it is very common. scientists remain in the dark about exactly why some people experience frequent left-right confusion. It appears, however, to be linked to brain lateralization
According to Wikipedia The lateralization of brain function is the tendency for some neural functions or cognitive processes to be specialized to one side of the brain or the other
And according to an expert study during my research
People with it shouldn’t be concerned, however, It’s not a form of dyslexia, Nor does it reflect any neurological problem.
But it's all good, it is not a life-threatening condition,
I thought it was just me that experienced such things😅
We are in together o
I get confused atimes as well🤦🏽♀️ Instead of saying it out, I use my left and right hand as a guide instead just to be sure. It works 😃
