Phone habit

I went out today for the first time without my charger, even when I do not end up using it most time I just feel good knowing it is available just in case and immediately I realized I wasn't with it, I almost turned back till my husband was like

Babe we wouldn't be out long, you wouldn't need the charger”.

I should have followed my instincts and quickly grabbed the charger because the traffic to and fro made us spend over 8 hours out and 6 hours in,my phone was already on the red, my husband said it was my fault because I am always on my phone but my excuse was that I had to entertain the baby somehow, streaming on youtube ran down the battery.

But deep down I knew it was all me even when my husband points it out a lot and I always fight about it and give excuses like business is online, money must be made😂

...but today it dawned on me that I had a phone problem To the extent that I worry I don't neglect some of my motherly duties just because I am on my phone well the truth is, it is really hard to be without a smartphone, not only because of the entertainment but we need it as a reminder, even as a note to write out ideas and inspiration for a blog post.

Nevertheless, there is still some habit We have to let go of when it comes to our phones, I asked my dear husband to tell me the bad habit I have when it comes to my phone since he has a lot to say so here it is, let's take a little dive into them.

- Using the phone while eating:
This is a bad table manner, it is ok if we check from time to time maybe because we are expecting something but being on your phone all through a meal is somewhat bad. I know how many times my parents would scold me and say no phones to the dining table so I just stop eating at the dining table altogether so I can take my phone. i just enjoy doing something like viewing pictures or watching a video while I eat I don't know if it is just me though.

But if you are with me on this we need to stop and pay attention to our food and surroundings

Not charging my phone
Guilty as charged!!! Because I always want to be on my phone I never let it charge to its maximum, the only time you see my phone plugged so if I am sleeping or taking a shower. I never let it be and it is bad. the essence of having a phone is for communication so if it is never charged how will it. you communicate especially in Nigeria where the electricity is unpredictable... I need to let go and allow my phone to charge well more often

Using the phone in church
Also guilty!! I tell myself I need it for the Bible but with a projector in the church do I need it? What could be so important? I would do Better from now

Taking pictures of everything and anything

I don't know how true this is but my excuse was that I needed content and inspiration. But I don't do it every minute because I know I love to enjoy the our moments too but I know a lot of people that every step they take a picture must come out of it. It is even exhausting seeing it..well let me remove the log from my eye first before I remove someone else's own.

First thing in the morning I reach out for my phone
Also quilty but why do we do this, even when I had a non-smartphone I also reached out for it so I won't say it is to get updated on what must have happened all through the night on social media.

anyways I am taking a step to try to get my phone far away from me before I sleep so I don't see it in the morning, instead, I would keep my Bible close by so I can read and pray that way I get to learn some new morning habit and discipline myself.

He had so much to say that I felt so bad that I didn't notice I was doing so much with my phone daily. I was certainly glad we had this conversation.

Which of these habits are you guilty of? And what phone habit do your spouse, friend, or partner do that drives you nut?

I practically can't do without my phone 😂, but I still have a limit to it. In as much as I love operating my phone, I don't take it along with me when I'm going to church
