Match Summary

I would love to start by saying that the match was a shocking one as it ended in a 2-2 draw at the optus stadium. Man united used a formation of 4-3-3 and villa used a 4-1-2-1-2.

Of course to what I think it was indeed a tough match for the two teams as they had the 3 shots on target with united having a total of 6 shots and villa had 8 opportunities.

Ball possession was a little bit sheaky but united still had more time on the ball than villa as they had 58% and villa had 42% of ball possession.

Pass accuracy was massive as both teams used their time on the ball to the maximum level. Pass accuracy for united was 83% and Aston villa had 80%.

Fouls committed was total 25 with united having a share of 13 fouls and Aston villa had 12 fouls which is a lot to say or see on the pitch.
Both teams shared 2 yellow card each for their high leve of foul play but no red card.

United went off side twice while Aston villa was off side just once. Both team again had the same number of corners to be taken on the two side of the field.

Goal scorers in the match where Sancho scoring in the 25th minutes and the second goal of the game was an own goal from Mathew Cash in the 42 minutes.

Villa bounced back in the second goal as the took one goal back in the first 3 minutes of the game as L. Bailey scored to give united a second thought of defending one goal left for them.

But they couldn't as C. Chambers pulled one back to equalize in the 90+3 minutes of added time. Indeed breaking the hearts of all united fans. And ending the game in a 2-2 draw.

That's all the reports on today's match review, I hope I didn't miss anything but if so. Just let me know on the comment section.

Thanks for dropping in fellows 👍

This is why reading anything into the pre season games means nothing. Why was it shocking as were you expecting United to walk away with an easy win lol? No wonder you guys get upset all the time as your expectations are just too high. Wait until the season starts for real and wait and see then. United are rebuilding so this is going to happen and have a long way to go.

I know united are still trying to put things together but I am not using pre-season to project the up coming season in the English premier league. But I want to see a change in them this season, that's all.

And thanks again for sharing your thoughts on the pre season tour.

There will be an improvement but then so will all the other teams and how far forward have the team progressed will be interesting to see. Top 4 still looks a step too far and one has to look at this as a multi year project that has just started.

Was watching this game as it was prime time here in Sydney. The weather was horrid. Then again I spose that's how it is in England on a standard December's day
