Новогоднюю ёлку дома я обычно ставила в последний момент, 30, а чаще 31 декабря. Но в этом году захотелось пораньше. I usually put the New Year tree at home at the last moment, on December 30, and more often on December 31. But this year I wanted to do it early.
В воскресенье я занялась этим важным делом для создания предпраздничного настроения. Ёлки у нас уже давно искусственные. А ёлочные игрушки, накопленные с 70-х годов прошлого века. Какие-то разбивались, покупались новые. Уже лет 20 я стараюсь к каждому Новому году покупать хотя бы одну новую ёлочную игрушку. On Sunday, I did this important thing to create a pre-holiday mood. We have artificial trees for a long time. And the Christmas tree decorations accumulated since the 70s of the last century. Some were broken, new ones were bought. For 20 years now I have been trying to buy at least one new Christmas tree decoration for every New Year.
У меня и гирлянда несколько десятилетий была из советских времён с лампочками накаливания. Но когда она в очередной раз отключилась года 3 назад, я купила новую с разными режимами мигания. For several decades I had a garland from Soviet times with incandescent bulbs. But when it turned off again about 3 years ago, I bought a new one with different blinking modes.
Вот моя домашняя большая ёлка с гирляндой. К сожалению, я заметила, что в гирлянде не горит одна линия лампочек. Но она уже была надета на ёлку, и развешены все игрушки. Наверное, уже к следующему новому году надо будет купить другую. Большая часть лампочек, всё-таки, светится. Это кадр в темноте. Here is my big home tree with a garland. Unfortunately, I noticed that one line of bulbs was off in the garland. But she was already put on the tree, and all the toys were hung. Probably, by the next new year it will be necessary to buy another. Most of the bulbs are still glowing. This is a shot in the dark.

А это при свете. Вокруг поставила календари на следующий год и присланные от друзей открытки. Мы уже несколько лет на Новый год обмениваемся открытками. И это, я вам скажу, очень классно: доставать из почтового ящика поздравление от людей из разных концов страны и мира. Читаешь добрые пожелания, и настроение сразу улучшается. And this is in the light. I put calendars for the next year and postcards sent from friends around. We have been exchanging postcards for the New Year for several years now. And this, I can tell you, is very cool: getting congratulations from people from different parts of the country and the world from the mailbox. You read good wishes, and your mood immediately improves.

Покажу поближе несколько игрушек. Из купленных недавно (в прошлом/позапрошлом году), бульдог в жилетке I'll show you a few toys closer. Recently purchased (last year/ year before last), bulldog in a vest

И кактус в горшке. Кактус немного обманный, он не из дутого стекла, как положено ёлочной игрушке в моём понимании, а из гипса, покрытый блестящей краской. Ветка моей ёлки, хоть и прогибается, но выдерживает эту тяжёлую игрушку. В другом исполнении мне кактусы не попадались, так что пусть будет вот такой. And a cactus in a pot. The cactus is a little deceiving, it is not made of blown glass, as it should be for a Christmas tree toy, in my understanding, but of plaster, covered with shiny paint. The branch of my tree, although it bends, can withstand this heavy toy. In another version, I did not come across cacti, so let it be like this.

А это приобретение к нынешнему празднику: симпатичный пудель в шапочке и шарфике. And this is an acquisition for the current holiday: a cute poodle in a hat and a scarf.

Своё место занял шарик из Кириллова монастыря, который я привезла из майской поездки в Вологду. A ball from the Kirillov Monastery, which I brought from a trip to Vologda in May, took its own place.

У меня ещё есть маленькая ёлочка, которую я ставлю над своим столом. У неё наряд в основном в синих тонах. I also have a small Christmas tree that I put over my table. Her outfit is mostly blue.

Покажу ещё совсем миниатюрную ёлочку, которую я ставлю у себя на работе. I will also show you a very miniature Christmas tree that I put at my work.

Она настолько маленькая, что игрушек для неё я не видела. Поэтому изготовила сама из бусинок и ракушек. А ещё туда отлично подошли подвески из магазина Санлайт, которые одно время раздавали как подарки. It is so small that I have not seen toys for her. Therefore, I made it myself from beads and shells. And pendants from the Sunlight store, which at one time were handed out as gifts, perfectly fit there.

Вот такая, в виде красной подарочной коробочки – совсем в тему получилась. This one, in the form of a red gift box - it turned out to be quite the topic.

Общую ёлку в вестибюле на работе тоже установили. Симпатично, мне кажется. A Christmas tree in the lobby was also installed at work. Nice, I think.

Понравился на ней Дед Мороз в вязаной шапочке. I liked Santa Claus wearing a knitted hat.
До Нового года совсем немного осталось. Если устаёшь от суеты и нервотрёпки, взгляд на нарядные ёлочки немного поднимает настроение. Very little is left before the New Year. If you get tired of the hustle, a glance at the elegant Christmas trees lifts your spirits a little.

You have so many pretty ornaments and decorations. Looks as though you really enjoy decorating for Christmas.🎁🎅

Do you have dogs ? If so what breed/s of dogs do you have?🐶🐕🐺

Thanks! I only had one dog - an English Bulldog. He has not been with us for over 10 years. But I have fond memories and gradually gathered a small collection of bulldog figurines.
