An Unforgettable Weekend In Another City
You know that feeling where your stomach starts churning when an event or occasion you've planned for a while draws closer, that's how I felt when this particular weekend for this occasion I had already been told about for about two months was around the corner.
I had this jittery feeling because it was an event I wished I could say no to but considering the occasion and the person involved, I couldn't just say no because I didn't want to hurt anyone.
Secondly, it was our break period away from school activities, so I said to myself, "Why not go out and have a little fun away from my environment for two whole days, that was exactly what we did. Yeah, you heard me right.
We were invited for a marriage ceremony away from our Local Government Area and since it was our break period, we decided to stay over the weekend.
Traditional Marriage and White wedding was done on the same day and I couldn't stop being in awe of the couples, both were beautiful and very happy about officially being a couple.
Well, we had plans of staying with a mutual friend till the next day and also since the event ended very late we had no options of going back even if we wanted, so the next day happened to be a Sunday and we with the company of our mutual friend went to a church service.
We went to one of the most renowned churches in Africa and I must say, the service wasn't what we expected, although their message was great and all but the musical aspects weren't superb like we had imagined.
Since we went for the morning service, we were back as early as possible although the rain began so it restricted us from moving as we had planned.
We got to our friend's house, refreshed, ate, and slept to prepare ourselves for our journey back home.
The rain began and since we wouldn't want to journey back home, we had to leave immediately after the rain subsided to avoid getting stuck on the road because of the rain.
Got to our city, went our separate ways back to our different homes and that was how our weekend went. A well-spent weekend away from a lot of worries and making new friends.
