Uche was a disobedient boy. He would not obey instructions from his parents and teachers.

One day, his father asked him: “Will you clean my shoes, please? I want to go to the office.” Uche turned his back to his father. He said, “No I will not.”

Another day, the mother also called him: “Can you wash the dirty plates in the kitchen for me, please? I want to go to the market.” Uche refused. He told his mother, “No, I will not.”

Later in the day, his aunt called him, “Will you feed the hens, please?” As usual, he replied: “No, I will not.”

At school, everybody knew Uche to be a disobedient and stubborn boy. He would not obey his teachers. One morning at the school assembly, the headmaster warned the pupils to stop climbing the mango trees in the school compound. But Uche said in his mind that he would continue to climb the trees.

At playtime, Uche climbed a tall mango tree. He saw a big snake that coiled around a branch of the tree. He was afraid. He started to rush down the tree, while he was rushing down, he missed his step, so he fell and broke his arm! Uche cried out to his classmates, “Help, I broke my arm.” But they all replied to him, “No, we shall not!
