LOH Community Contest #109 ~ I Am My Limitation To Learning

avatar

Although it's been a while since I participated in the ladies of hive contest but seeing this week's contest and the first question got me smiling to myself because the question of course brought back funny memories or maybe thoughts if I should put it that way.

What is your favorite musical instrument and why? Do you know how to play it? If not, do you think there are limits to learning to play it?

Whilst growing up, I had so much love for keyboards that I wished that whenever I am ready to settle down, whoever was going to be my spouse must learn how to play the keyboard.

And as such, I had to beg a neighbour of ours back then who plays the keyboard professionally to teach me how to play the keyboard, but I couldn't learn much because my family later moved out of that neighbourhood although he taught me the basics but ever since then, have not had the opportunity of learning how to play a keyboard.

A few months ago, I realized that I took a keen interest in drums, I would sit from afar and watch with rapt attention, admiration, and interest at any guy who is playing the drum set, and even the talking drum, and most times I find myself getting distracted when a worship or praise session is going on, especially when the drummer isn't playing well.

I always have this huge prompt to get closer to the drummer and give him a resounding slap, that's if there is anything like that just to help set their eardrum perhaps it will help them be more attentive and sensitive to what the singer is doing and at least follow their lead.

I mean who doesn't love good music, I do and most times, I imagine myself having to play the keyboard in my spare time with my family and friends.

There are no limitations to learning how to play any instrument I wish to play, I am my limitation and that means, only if I decide that I do not wish to learn how to play it.

I wouldn't also mind learning the basics of those instruments, who knows I might need it one day, or perhaps I could just hold on to my passion for this instrument until I am married and have my own kids, maybe I would groom them up in playing these instrument better and more professional.

This is my entry to the Ladies of Hive Community Contest #109, I invite @zellypearl to participate in this contest.

Thank you for reading!!!

Wow that's interesting of you. I actually wanted to learn keyboard but it seem a bit difficult. I didn't even get closer to drum because I hate noise. But I actually did flute lastly.
Thanks for sharing, do have a lovely day

I love good music too and someone must be good at playing the drums and talking drums, including the keyboard for me to enjoy that moment. Those three combinations are great with experts on them. Truth is that we are our limitations and it is on us to either learn or not learn a thing.

Awesome! I know within me the level of admiration I have for ladies who play musical instruments, especially the keyboard.
Learning musical instruments, just like many other things, need high level of discipline and passion. Breaking the limitations is always a matter of intentional decisions.
When next you have the opportunity to learn the skills, cease it fully, create time for it. 😊

Nice post! And I had a good read.
