Snatched By The Cold Hands of Death ~ Black Sunday

Exactly one month and three days after your wedding, I got the news of his demise.

Although I don't know him in person and never met him in person but got to know him during his wedding period when a friend posted about his wedding which was in October and I gushed over his handsome face and gap-tooth.

I would regularly scroll through his pictures and inwardly thank God for wonderfully and fearfully creating him

I guess my love for men who are tall and gap-toothed triggered my crush for him and just today, unexplainable news about his demise got to me.

I could not help but shed tears not because I knew him but because I just couldn't believe that a man who had just gotten married a month ago is no more and would be leaving behind his newly wedded wife to become a widow in just one month after marriage.

October 27th and 30th, I walked into the reception hall of this young man although did not stay long but I could feel the radiance coming from both couples, and today, you are no more, snatched by the cold hands of death.

For some unknown reason, I found myself bowing my heads down and praying to God to bring you back to life just for your lovely wife who is going to cry her eyes out. Your loved ones who are going to forever miss you and wish it was just a dream.

I shed tears and wished my prayers could reach the heavens and be heard by God so He can answer them and I would hear another news that he is back to life.

It's a pity that none happened because he is indeed gone and forever gone until we meet to part no more.

Left his newly wedded wife and laying with no life in him waiting for the day he would be laid to rest.

Indeed, life is nothing but a fleeting moment. One day you see someone, and the next day he is no more. It is left for those who are privileged to be alive to think about their lives and make amends although we are all afraid of death and feel pain when our loved ones are snatched away from us but the truth remains that every one of us will one day die.

How we live our lives matters because we don't know when the cold hands of death will come knocking on our door. Will we be ready because we are sure of what we've done and the lives we've touched or will we regret never doing anything while we were still alive?

It's left for us to be truthful to ourselves and answer this question honestly. We will all die which isn't a big deal, the big deal is how prepared are we when such happens?

Are we going to regret not doing one or two things while we had the opportunity or are we going to boldly smile that we were able to accomplish that which the one who created us sent us down to planet earth to do?

Rest in Peace!!
