The Trends

I don't know if we all know the trending news but if not, I would be sharing with us the new trending news that is breaking the heart of thousands of people in Nigeria.

For a few days now the news of a young boy named Sylvester Oromoni has been trending on Facebook and other social media. The news says the young boy was physically abused in his school where he was a boarder by his senior students just because he refused to join cultism. Unfortunately, his parents knew about this act at the point of his death. Today he was announced dead after he was rushed to the hospital by his parents and the school can't give valid information of what happened to this young boy other than he fell and got injured while playing football with his friends.

This isn't the first case that has happened this year;

The first was about an 11-year-old Don Davis who survived a terrible sexual and physical abuse at Deeper Life High School, Uyo.

The second case was about a young 14 years old Karen Happuch who died from sexual abuse from Premier Academy, Lugbe, Abuja.

The last case which just took place this week is about the young 12 years old Sylvester Oromoni who died from physical abuse related to cultism from Dowen College, Lekki Lagos.

Look at this young beautiful kid who I am sure had a dream of their own and a promising future.

The question now is who will take the blame as the school is denying to know the source of the death of this young boy whose birthday was supposed to be today and the said people involved in this act is said to have fled the school after the news got to them that Sylvester told his parent about how he was beaten and locked up in his food locker for two days without food because he refused to join the gangs.

The autopsy report of Sylvester also revealed that he was given a black substance to drink which was harmful to his health resulting in him having blood in between his teeth till his death.

We have thousands of people asking for justice for this young boy not because they are related but because every one of these kids who died cruelly has not gotten the justice they deserve and no one, not even the school administration is ready to bring out the culprits.

Who do we blame for this act, the parents who have refused to groom their children or the school who have refused to look into their system and bring out the bad eggs who are making the death of these young kids rampant daily?

Funny enough, if his parents, teachers, or perhaps an older person was sensitive enough to see this young boy change of attitude and physical appearance they would have noticed something was wrong with him but unfortunately everyone looks away until the worst happened and then, they will all start shouting for justice for the already died.

What is happening to us, where is our conscience, If the young ones could be this heartless to sniff the life out of a young person like themselves, what then will become of our nation?

Are we sure we would be safe, are our yet unborn generation safe from this havoc? The boarding school that usually be a safe place away from house chores and parents nagging is now filled with blood-thirsty vipers who do not have a conscience and see no bad in the lives they are damaging each day and the havoc they are causing family and friends of this young kids.

Things are getting out of hand and the leaders of our tomorrow are being buried daily.

Action needs to be taken to stop this havoc.
