[WE104] Weekend-Engagement ~ My Inspiring Pieces of Music

(Edited)

To mark the two years of the weekend community, I will be answering the question that says;

Two songs or pieces of music
Name two songs or pieces of music that have meant a great deal to you, defining moments in your life, made you feel great happiness or great sorrow when you hear them, or taken you back to a special moment. Explain why in each case. You can link the YouTube videos if you like.

For someone like me, whose only friend and companion have been music, I've got a lot of songs that have inspired me to keep moving despite how difficult I seem and how challenging my situation might be.

I love music that first reminds me of how the goodness and mercies of God as brought me this far and secondly songs that reminds me that the struggle is real and that if I keep pushing with a little hope, I am going to win, messages that reminds that I am beautifully and wonderfully made and I am still and could still be even with my scars and past, well that's because I have got some insecurities issues with my body and my self worth
even though I am still trying to work on it, but most times, my thoughts wander around those things and these songs are like words of affirmation to let me know I am better regardless.

Regardless of the genre as long as it has these messages, I don't mind downloading them and having them in my playlist for as long as I want. Most of my songs were gotten from Instagram pages or YouTube pages. Just scrolling through and boom, I came across them and decided that I needed them on my phone.

I remember going through my Instagram page and coming across this song that was used as a reel, titled Scars to your beautiful by Alessia Cara just couldn't help but go and download the song and after listening to the song for days, I decided that I needed to use the song as my ringing tone and that is what I am currently using.

For this second song, I remember entering my neighbour's room to ask him for something which I can't remember what it was when suddenly I heard this song playing on his television screen, I found myself glued to the screen listening to every line and admiring the scene used and the beautiful voice of the lady who sang the song too which made me miss the name of the song and the person who sang the song until two days later, I overheard the song from a nearby eatery down our street.

So, I moved closer since the television screen was facing the main road to take a look at the name and title of the song one more time. When I did, I quickly logged into my browser to search and download the, although it took me hours but I successfully downloaded it and was so happy I did it.

Thando Lwethu by Bucie and Kwesta

I don't know if I still need to tell you guys how these songs had brought me out of my depression especially since I am a heavy thinker and occasionally fall into the state of analyzing my life and letting the words of people get to me, but listening to these songs over time reminds me of the fact that If I have been able to come these far, then it means, I can still keep going, all I need to do is keep believing and not losing hope.

I've got so many songs to share with us but just for the contest, I will mention just the two.

Thanks for reading!!!

They literally have attempeted my murder and are trying to kill me with V2K and RNM. Five years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism ..... https://ecency.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem

Hi @evegrace thanks for sharing these two songs and I am glad that they helped brought you out of depression. They are both great singers and I like their voices :)

I really like that first song, I'd never heard either of these before but that first one is really lovely and has such a strong message at the end. I think music really does help to bring out the best in us but also sometimes brings us through the darkness to a brighter time.
