Wednesday Walk ~ A Trip To The Bank

In my years of going to the bank, there is something I noticed about myself when it involves banks which is one of the reasons I don't like going to banks.

I realized that whenever I am close to banks or in banks, I get a nerve-wracking breakdown whenever I am close to banks or just inside banks. I don't if saying I have a phobia of banks is wrong but I wouldn't mind using that word anyway.

On my way to the bank

I mean who will believe that a tall and huge lady of my kind freaks out just by the sights of the bank but today I had no option but to visit one after years of having this particular bank but not visiting after opening the account because of the way I always felt whenever I go to banks because my brother needed the money he saved in the account prompted me to visit the bank so I can finally get an ATM but unfortunately their machine used for printing the card had issues and as such, I could not get the card but was directed to another bank for it or I resolved to use their bank App and because I wasn't ready to visit another branch of the bank like others who had the nerve, I opted to install the bank mobile app in my phone which also took another hour to install.

Because of the long queue waiting to download this app, I had to wait while the customer service attended to those who came before me, and during that period of waiting, it felt like hell for me. I was so nervous that I could feel my heart thudding so loud in my chest like it wants to break free, while I started sweating profusely on my palms and my back even when there was enough air conditioning in the bank to freeze anyone.

The customer care was quite friendly than I had thought and was ready to answer your every question without making you feel you were a nuisance to them and never for once answered their customers rudely unlike some other customer care that I have encountered in my few times in the bank, I guess that is one of the reasons, I get so nervous and always felt that the ground should swallow me up whenever I am in a bank

I couldn't even muster the courage to take a picture of the bank when I entered even after I left the bank because I just couldn't wait to leave that area entirely.

It took hours before I finally succeeded in installing and registering my mobile app so I can get my pin which will enable me to do transactions and during those times, I felt frustrated because the whole staying in a bank for hours was beginning to get on my nerve no matter how hard I tried to look comfortable, with the tapping of my feet frequently to distract me and the constant checking of my social media account even when I was sure that there was nothing there, I still needed a distraction to help calm my breakdown and when I was finally able to use my app, I did not wait for a second inside the bank, I found myself walking and running toll I was sure I was far away from the bank before I was able to let out the breath I did not even notice I was holding back while in the bank.

I think we all have fears of one sort or another, but glad you were strong to get through your phobia and do what you had to do at the bank

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
