A Successful Promotion - Could This Work with Hive?
I just participated in an online campaign to boost followers on Twitter. The initiative comprised of a collection of anarchist, environmentalist and leftist groups, was formed as a way to network and grow the user base to at least 1k per Twitter account. The name: #nocomradesbelow1k, quickly trended on Twitter.
I watched while accounts with few followers grew until they passed that number. What was most inspiring was seeing the sense of community develop as new members found each other. I think this is something we can use on Hive. Maybe #nohivebelow1k which could possibly be incorporated in the next Hive promo by @nathanmars.
What made this work was that it called on you to do one simple thing: FOLLOW. No videos to make, nothing to create or upload. An absolutely friction-less way to find people of like mind and stitch them into a larger group.
Afterwards, members began to promote accounts of their friends and other causes they believed in. It was a sight to behold. All of these people who had formerly been off in their own little alleyway online, started joining each other in the Twitter Town Hall. The question is, would this have worked if they'd been asked to do something else besides just following each other? I think that amazing simplicity is what led to it's success. We can do that on Hive, what do you think?

Exactly. And I was one of those true believers back in 2010 when Bitcoin emerged on the scene. The same with Hive right now. :)
