With the effects of inflation being in the news, stressed out consumers are searching for any additional revenue streams. The war and rising energy costs have affected every one of us to the point that cutbacks are being made in the way we allocate scarce resources.
Some are turning to freelance and gig work, while others are putting their content creation skills to good use right here on the blockchain.
However, there's still one place right here in America where an enterprising individual can take one simple action to ensure a steady stream of funds year after year. For those of you in the continental United States, all it takes is the willingness to pack up and move in order to unlock this unusual opportunity.
The action is: Move to Alaska.

That's right, pack up and head north young (or old) man. The 49th state offers an annual payment known as the Permanent Fund Dividend. This program shares the proceeds from state oil revenue with each resident of the state.
The cash amount for the 2022 Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend is $3,284.00... Hence the title of this post sharing what each resident received via direct deposit on September 20, 2022, with the remainder coming in October of this year.
Alaska is the state that not many citizens in the 'Lower 48' know about. And yes Virginia, they will pay you to live there. To qualify, you must be either:
- An American citizen;
- An alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States;
- An alien with refugee status under federal law;
- An alien that has been granted asylum under federal law;
So it benefits you to come here legally. You must also show intent to remain indefinitely in Alaska. A lot of people here don't believe me when I tell them about this, but every word of it is true. To receive the dividend, you must move to the state before January 1st of the year you expect to qualify for.
The state has a PFD Website where residents can apply for the fund and check the status of your application. So if you've ever considered starting a new life in 'The Last Frontier' Now might be the right time to make the move. Just be sure to establish (and be able to prove) residency, before January 1.
