First Frosties

The time has come, temperatures dropped below zero at night, and winter is fast approaching.

Today was the first frosty morning and while it will still be around 10 degrees Centigrade during the day for a long time, the mornings are quite chilly indeed. The coastal air makes the temperatures often feel even colden than it actually is.

I had to put on my sexy sexy merino wool underlayers because I can’t wear any of my wool sweaters at work, the dirt and aluminium would ruin them in an instant. I actually have different sizes of jeans for example so in the wintertime I can wear long underlayers and still look cool, not cold.

The beautiful frosty and sunny morning had me weeping along the way to work because I would have loved to be out shooting instead. I need to drag my ass up early on a day off so I can capture this wonderful time of the year when the rusty coloured foliage is covered in frost and sunlight peaks through.

I need to do some window insulation around the house because there are a few that are a bit too drafty and gather moisture. I’m gonna do it the traditional way with linen cord and paper ”tape”, that is then easily removed in spring. I hope my supplies arrive before the weekend.

Very excited for this autumn season, first one for us in this house.
