Things to Get Me Out of a Funk

I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.

-Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll

I’ve been feeling greatly unmotivated, uninspired, lazy and all around bad for a few days and I need to pick myself up from this funk. I know quite a few tricks and tips that help me get back on track, but I just need to stop procrastinating and execute them.

Here is my list of things that help me get out of a sluggish mood:

  1. Changing out of sweatpants, putting on a cute outfit and doing my hair and makeup.
  2. Going out for a long walk with the camera.
  3. Doing housework; laundry, dishes, making the bed, vacuuming. I hate vacuuming, but it feels good afterwards.
  4. Creating something. I always feel better even if I just make a pretty simple post. Makes me feel like I got something done.
  5. Cooking a proper meal or baking. The more time it takes, the greater the satisfaction.
  6. Log off from all social medias. This I've been practising quite a lot, it's too people-y in here during the pandemic.
  7. Working out or dancing. These I do quite rarely, need to get better.
  8. Reading a book. Or at least listening to an audiobook while doing the things mentioned above.

Now I'm putting the laptop away again and getting some of these things done.

Bounce at the funk :)
Parov Stelar - A Night In Torino

Do you know the song?

I have a whole lot of lists of music that come in handy, ranging from the 60's to nowadays, to be honest I still have a lot to grow in that field and I'm starting to "get old" (repeating myself and getting comfortable and complacent)

I've also realized sitting in silence is just as powerful.

Just letting time fly by.

Reading is also great, so is practicing arts, and now that can't do it in groups it's both a rest and a bit of a nudge to find what really matters.

So if you bake some cookies, show it off in style :)
