Here comes the rain...

I have been waiting for this for a long time! Summer here is normally very got and very dry and can happen it doesn't rain for weeks. Today, after few days of brewing it finally rained.
And just like that it feels like winter is really coming. And even though just yesterday we still had a sunny day, today it feels like it has been raining for days.

I am not complaining! It saves me lots of time watering the plants outside :)

The black leaves of Aeonium definitely enjoy the shower. The plant goes dormant for the hot summer months and starts to wake up with the first fall rains to grow though the winter. The majority of leaves usually drop so it doesn't lose too much moisture in the hear and the the crown curls up like a closed rose.
Soon it will start to open and it will grow until late spring. It kind of does the opposite to most plants.

Pachyphytum oviferum aka Moonstone plant looks about the same all year round. Fatty, round leaves in light paste colour. It doesn't like the sun and gets sunburn easily. Now enjoys the rain too and cooler temperatures.

The next generation - The leaves snap with the slightest touch. I didn't have to do anything, they just fell to the bottom of a pot, rooted and started a new plant. Self-service :)

And lastly another one with with a very dark purple colour - Oxalis triangularis. I keep trying to grow this one and I keep failing. No matter what I try I cannot get the thick, lush bush my mum has.
But I still enjoy seeing the pretty leaves that do pop now and then.

And they hold the waterdrops so beautifully! :)

Great macro photos! I love the water drops on the plants. If I am in my father's garden when it rains, I can take nice photos too. :)

I love the smell of rain!

The dark ones are awesome! Especially when they grow next to some light green ones.
