Nature is a great artist!

We had a nice sunny day today, even though it wasn't very warm. I went to the balcony to check if there is anything to shoot. The gloomy days are no good for that. I have this little Echeveria that started to open a flower, but that is for another time. Some dead plants that needs cleaning already. I like drystuff but those are way beyond being photographable.

And I had this Physalis that was waiting for a day like today. It was so nice to sit on the tiles, even though they weren't the warmest) and start on the little macro session. And the sun felt so good!

It is truly amazing what nature can do even to decaying plant.
I am not sure if this can be called a seed pod... It is a cover for a little round fruit inside. In their prime it is gorgeous and orange - I am sure most of you know it. The fruits are also nice and bright orange and edible.

But if left on the bush they will transform to those lovely, delicate cages.
This is now the whole thing looks like.
Or rather what is left from it. When the rain comes it will turn dark and brown and will slowly fall apart to fertilize my pots :p

There is another plant that does that (well.. there is probably lots that does it, but I just didn't find them yet). I shot that Hydrangea at my mum's garden a while back. Those petals (leaves actually) show they lacy pattern when they decay as well. Almost like some delicate silver brooch.

I have several physalis. I'm going to shoot them. But there is not one in this state. It looks very nice :-)

I do not have a garden, but have a balcony. I think I’ll wet them with water several times and dry them :D
