Not so violet Violet

African violet purple bw.jpg

The furry topic continues. There was a furry spider yesterday, and furry assistant on Caturday.
This is one my less furry plants. I have few pots with African Violets in viarious colours and I always liked their fuzzy leaves. But with a bit of zoom you see that flowers buds and stems are furry too! On photos it may look a bit like the hair are sticky, like in those carnivorous plants, but they are not. Just a very nice, soft little fur.

Originally this one is white with some purple on the edges. For some reason sometimes it is almost funny white, and not it blooms almost funny purple. Moody little thing.
So I made it monochrome.
Hope that'll teach him a lesson to make up his mind! :p

Very cool! For years I had 4-6 African Violets blooming almost year round in my sunny kitchen windows. I had various shades of purple and one or two with purple and white. They kind of took over my window, so eventually as they got scraggly looking I put them in my compost bin. Haha. They became food for new plants! 😀 I don't have any in my sunny window any longer. Have a good evening/day!

Haha, it's okay @ewkaw... I can always go buy more African Violets at a garden center to get back into having them in my kitchen window. :)

Superb photographs, did you have artificial lights to make th centre glow or the editing that's made beautiful?

Very creamy and beautiful 👌

I put it in the sunny spot so the flower was getting the light. The edges of the petals are darker, so it looks like the light doesn't reach there.
