| One of the times that I was staying in Wrocław for a few days I had this ambitious plan to spend a day or two on visiting my favourite spots and taking shit loads of photos. I wanted to visit my favourite places and just walk and shoot. There are tons of new Dwarfs that I haven't seen yet and I was going to hunt them down. Well… the weather had different plans for me and for my whole stay it was raining. Bad for photos - good for me. It's calmer, quieter has the smell of all the trees around. | Podczas jednego z moich kilkudniowych pobytów we wrocławiu miała ambitny plan: spędzić dzień, albo dwa na łażeniu i robieniu zdjęć. Chciałam odwiedzić moje ulubione miejsca i sprawdzić jakie to nowe Krasnale się pojawiły i trochę ich upolować. Pogoda jednak miała inny plan i przez cały mój pobyt padało. Nici z tryliona zdjęć, za to mi się i tak podobało. Jakoś tak spokojnie jest gdy pada i ten zapach drzew… |

| I had to go (and it was kind of on the way anyway) to Ostrów Tumski and the area around. Many little streets are closed for regular car traffic, many old churches and little parks. Many people walk slowly there (or it’s all in my head). I used to be there at least once a week just to have a walk and look at the Oder river. In spring there was no flood of tourists yet and the rain kept the ones made of sugar at home too. | Oczywiście obowiązkowy punkt (i był też po drodze) to Ostrów Tumski i okolice. Masa małych uliczek, które są wyłączone z ruchu ulicznego, stare kościoły i zielone skwerki. Ludzie tam jakoś powoli chodzą (albo mi się tak zdaje). Był czas, że byłam tam przynajmniej raz w tygodniu, żeby sobie w tym spokoju połazić i popatrzeć na Odrę. Wiosną nie było jeszcze masy turystów a i deszcz przegonił tych zrobionych z cukru. |

| Ostrów Tumski is the oldest part of the city. Few small island on the river and the area with stunning cathedral. The little Tumski Bridge that you see still has old lamps on both sides that have to be lit by a person every evening and then turned off in the morning. Isn’t that just charming? :) | Ostrów Tumski to najstarsza część miasta. Kilka małych wysepek i okolice wokół katedry. Maleński Most Tumski, który jest tu na zdjęciu ma po obu stronach ma stare lampy, które co wieczór są ręcznie zapalane przez ludzia i potem rano gaszone. Urocze, prawda? |

EN PL The whole are that you see on the map (the old City center is not included, but is equally awesome) is full of old buildings, bridges, small streets and until a while ago cool old trams (that were later changed to new and heartless machines). I put an arrow where the little green bridge is. Cała ta część, która jest na mapce (rynek i okolice nie są na mapce, ale są równie wypasione) jest pełna mostów, starych budynków, wąskich uliczek i do penwgo momenty starych tramwajów (które potem zostały wymienione na nowe i bezduszne maszyny). Profesjonalna strzałka pokazuje gdzie jest zielony mostek. That's the lamp :) Oto i lampa :) 
The Two Towers
EN PL The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in the back with the two towers and and amazing Gothic church Collegiate Church of the Holy Cross and St. Bartholomew on the left with a single one. This is the view from one of the islands. To think that when in 1997 there was a huge flood all this was under water. Where I was standing was about 1 m of water... Katedra św Jana Chrzciciela to te dwie wieże z tyłu. Na lewo z jedną wieżą to Kolegiata Świętego Krzyża i św. Bartłomieja - przepiękny kościół Gotycki. To jest widok z jednech z wysep. I pomyśleć, że podczas powodzi w 1997 to wszystko było zalane. Tu gdzie stoję był metr wody... I didn't get sunny shots, but I like Wrocław this way a lot more! Słonecznych zdjęć nie mam, ale ja taki Wrocław wolę!

What's the story behind all the padlocks?
I am not sure where or who started it. But I see it on many bridges in different countries.
Coupes usually engrave their names or initials on them and lock them on the bridge (I dunno if any bridge will do, or just some special ones). It is supposed represent forever lasting love I think...

That rabbit hole wasn't as deep as I expected. Here's an excerpt from an article I found here
"...the love lock tradition didn’t even start in Paris — it started in a town called Vrnjačka Banja in Serbia. There, shortly before the First World War, a young man and woman fell in love, and would meet every night at the Most Ljubavi bridge in town. But the man went into the military, and while abroad, he met and fell in love with someone else. The young woman died of heartbreak, and superstitious local women began going to the bridge, writing the names of themselves and their lovers on padlocks, and locking them to the bridge, in the hope that it would bind their paramours to home."

No... I left it 7 years ago, but I heared now is much better place, so I should go and take a look :)
Beautiful place. I would like to visit old towns and enjoy the scenic views and breathe in the history of the place. The feeling would be awesome. The lamp is very rustic and old fashioned, just the way I like it. We have a hanging lamp outside that looks just like this. And the padlocks - are they used to lock the park gate or are they sort of traditional for visitors to leave behind sort of a remembrance? Interesting. Thanks for sharing this one.
This part is definitely worth visiting. You just have to fly to Poland :D
The padlocks are just hanging there on the bridge, You can see thousands of them on the photos.
People engrave (or write) they names on them and lock them there as a sign of.... everlasting love I guess?
Everlasting love or as a sign that their hearts are locked up together for life with the keys thrown away down the river.

Tak, pozdejmowali i dali znak z zakazem wieszania nowych... ale widziałam, że ludzie zaczęli wieszać w innych miejscach ;)

Starówka klimatyczna, i plaża w środku miasta
i ta cudowna vege-miejscówka (zapomniałam nazwę, ale ma parter i piętro)
tylko Krasnali jakoś nigdy i nigdzie nie zauważyłam! 😲

Wiem dokladnie która, też tam jadałam czasami. Pyszne jedzonko! Vega się nazywa po prostu.
Jak to nie widziałaś krasnali! Pełno ich przy Rynku jest (a ponad 300 chyba w całym mieście). Tylko w dół trzeba patrzec :)
