The flowers did not open fully on this one, but I did not want to wait. The weather changes a lot lately and if it gets cloudy or rainy they will not open at all. I am pretty happy with the two as the cactus looks a little bit miserable. We will be working on that this year. Pinky swear!

Another small cactus native to Bolivia and pretty high altitudes. Up up on the 2000 - 4000 it grows and blooms and feels good. Much better than with me I'd say :p I have kept it in this tiny 4 cm pot for 3 years or so and now that I look at the photos from last year it doesn't look much different. You'll see in the end of the post.

I really like this type though. No sharp spines sticking out trying to pierce your fingers though. They all sit neatly close to the body. Easy to handle and no blood spill.

The flowers are quite large comparing to the plant and last a few days. I think I tried to cross pollinate this one last year and it didn't work. Wouldn't mind getting some nice mix with vivid colour and the body of this one.

And ow time for a little recap:
I think I like this form more than the pile of links at the bottom of the post. The progress (or not) looks better too. What say you?

It is the same image as from the previous post with Fabrisii. We skip 2020 as it was just growing and I didn't bother taking any photos.

Nice, light spines, two pretty, fully open flowers. Oh yea!
And then we have...
image.png2022
with trully miserable look. Bad bad me!

A beautiful plant... It's amazing how big the flowers are in proportion to the size of the plant as such. Excellent images as always... Sending greetings!...

PS: I have read about the attempt at cross-pollination between species that you tried... That really surprises me... You have succeeded with this kind of plants then I guess... Wow... really interesting...

In my opinion, there is still room in the pot :-)
