Hive Naija Weekly Prompt | Edition 34: My Valentine Experience

Happy new week to everyone @HiveNaija community and it's yet another awesome time on the @hivenaija weekly prompt where different thoughts are shared and values are been added. I'm @fab-tay and i am excited to be participating in this week's prompt where i will be putting an entry to share about my Valentine's experience as it held lastweek. Valentine's day holds every February 14 and this year's celebration was the first for me as a married man as i was a bachelor that same time last year. In order to commemorate that day and also going by my understanding of my wife's love language, i sent her a personal message to appreciate and affirm my love for her. Although, this is been done on a constant basis, but that of the Valentine's day is of utmost importance. Though i went to work that day as it wasn't a free day but we still had our time when we both saw in the evening to commemorate it in our own little way and we believe it will get better. Source
One of the major highlights of this year valentine's day for me was how there were pleasant surprises put together by some lovers for their partner. For example, i saw a video clip of a couple i knew very well how the husband surprised her with a very good package and how the wife (a mother of one) was really surprised by her husband's thoughtfulness and it really came wel and big for her. This couple are young couples and i really appreciates this. Likewise, i saw another delivery been made by another partner to his wife (a mother of 3) and she acknowledged the receipt by posting it on a WhatsApp platform for couples which I'm. This couple are much older than the previous couple and this shows that we can love and appreciate each other nomatter how many years been together. All required is a thoughtfulness and a sense of worth/value we placed on each other. Source
A hilarious experience i witnessed that day was how a woman jokingly challenged us in my place of work that we ought to display contraceptive especially condom openly and in a special way for people to make subsidized purchase or even distribute it free for them so as to celebrate Valentine's day. I also witnessed a Valentine's jamboree by a famous restaurant beside's my place of work where people enjoyed themselves even as they were entertained by various songs, dance displays etc. Also at work place, some married and single staffs put on red/white coloured clothes to commemorate that day including the owner's wife. In all, love is a good thing when it's mutual and shared by people with commitment to each other. Valentine's day has come and gone for this year, but the appreciation and celebration goes on all through the year as we renew our love towards one another.
