Patriotism and service to motherland

Every human is born into a family and each family makes up a society which inturn makes up a country. The good part of life is that every one of us is born into a family where we learnt various values which makes for peaceful living within the family, society and the nation at large. One of this is patriotism and service to motherland which involves doing our best and contributing our own quota to the development of our countries. Patriotism also includes peaceful existence with our neighbors and other members of the community and society nomatter the gender, ethnicity, race or background. Every nation has heroes and heroines who have contributed immensely to that nation because they were good compatriots and that's why we still remember them up till now.

Patriotism and service to motherland can also come in form of obeying civic rules and regulations, honouring our leaders at all levels, paying the approved taxes/levies and so on. The prosperity of a nation lies in the quality of its citizens and the more each citizen values and contributes his/her best to the motherland, the better it is for the country. Sometimes, there are opportunities to serve the motherland in different capacities and positions which if done with a sense of appreciation and worth brings maximum productivity and increase for all. Patriotism and service to motherland should be the watchword of all the leaders at all levels as this prevent from engaging in unlawful practices when elected. I once served my country during a mandatory one year national service where i contributed my best based on my training and certification to better off the lot of the citizens in the region i was assigned to work as a young productive citizen. In all, i believed that by putting the right values, honour and worth on our neighbors, society, community and nation at large, our countries will rise up to become the nation of our dream. It all begins with you and me and it's always rewarding to be patriotic, now and even in extension to posterity. Thank you for reading.
