Due to the lockdown most flights have been cancelled in my country and airports are a fraction of what they once where.

I recently went to pick up my inlaws from the airport who where able to visit from interstate for the first time in a year and a half.

I was immediately freaked out by how quiet it was, it felt like something out of a zombie film (especially the hand print in the elevator!!). For once I could park at the front of the airport, it was so empty with more staff then passengers. In fact the biggest group was drivers waiting to pick up VIPs. As you can see the flight boards are empty, shops are shut and it echos weirdly as you walk around.

It was the first time I had truly seen the massive impact COVID has had on the tourist industry and was a real reality check on how the impacts are still being felt today

All photos are my own, shot on my Samsung phone and edited in Lightroom.

I love seeing pics of abandoned places. Makes me think of what NYC used to be like on Christmas day when I was a kid. It's not like that anymore. Great post.

Hila, friend @failingforwards

It is really impressive to see all the empty establishments and places. More, those that we normally find crammed with people.

It seems as if a fierce pandemic is lurking.

Excellent photography.

A hug
