Blue Hiking Trail. A really cold day, part 2. Ended with a bit horror 💀
Where did I stop the story the day before yesterday?
This was my last blue trail post: https://peakd.com/hive-113634/@fairyberry/blue-hiking-trail-a-really-cold-day-part-1-hive-113634
I drank a cup of hot tea in Bakonykuti, then I went to stamp my booklet and continued on my way. The sun was already warm and it was melting in some places, it was a bit muddy.
I said goodbye to the village and the hermit of the forest, though it's just a wooden sculpture.
I walked along the edge of a deep gorge through the woods. I didn’t have to go down the gorge, and i was happy about that now because my left knee was starting to hurt. Luckily i took the hiking pole with me and it was a big help. Along the way, i ate a sandwich at a rest area and got very thirsty. I had a bottle of water, but it turned out to be so cold i could barely drink. Unfortunately, my thermos broke down a few days ago and i searched the stores in vain, people bought the supplies before Christmas.
Because the blue signal was difficult to follow, navigation was continuous on my phone. Near Bakonykuti, my phone was still 70% charged and I was glad how well it worked. The GPS was very helpful because i got off the road many times and immediately warned me that i was in the wrong place.
Next to a field, there was thick ice in the wheel tracks and they had an interesting pattern.
I was lucky that the ground was frosty, otherwise i could barely cross such a puddle lake.
The familiar wind farm appeared in the distance, which showed that Bakonycsernye was very close. But the path was very winding and i was getting further and further away from the village. I walked as fast as I could because I had to get to the village on time because of the bus departure.
It was warm in the sunny places, but cold in the shade. I kept moving because if i had stopped, I would have been cold after a while and my muscles would have stiffened.
I found a hut in the woods and took a closer look. It was in a pretty dilapidated condition.
I thought it might even be suitable for a night shelter, so i went in. Here comes a little horror!
WTF! A dead, mummyfied fox! Overnight here? Never!
I didn't plan to spend the night outside anyway, but i made my way to Kisgyón, the last stamp place of the day. The fox mummy was the last one i photographed because my phone was completely discharged. I didn't even know what time it was. It’s likely that my phone couldn’t stand the cold, plus i navigated and took photos with it. I'm going to need a power bank! At least another 3-4 kilometers to Kisgyón and my knees and heels are getting more and more sore!
Suddenly I was confronted by two huge dogs followed by a man in a SUV. The dogs almost pushed me, but they didn’t hurt, they were more happy for me.
I calmed down because the man said i still had enough time, but had to hurry a bit. Squeezing my teeth in pain, I continued on my way. I stamped my booklet in Kisgyón and had to take another 2 kilometres to the bus stop. Luckily I got on the bus and got home before dark.
To be continued!
