Blue Hiking Trail. From medieval castle of Csókakő to Gánt

avatar

I left earlier than usual yesterday, because there is no direct bus to Csókakő at other times. That's why it was still dark when I got to the village. After a short walk, I was already at the foot of the castle. I originally wanted to watch the sunrise there, but unfortunately it was closed. Besides, an icy wind was blowing, which was pretty uncomfortable because I had to take off my gloves to take pictures.

The wind pushed me, so only this picture of the castle became sharp enough.

I had to go back to the parking lot to have another stamp in the booklet. There I drank a milk coffee I diluted with hot water.
The first half of my journey went through well-known places. At this tree, as always, I stopped.

I also made a small detour to admire the landscape covered with hoarfrost.

Open, well-visible spaces alternated with dense bush

The clearings are fenced off from the rest of the forest.

Sacred images on the tree - this is where the Mary trail leads.

As a result of the diligent work of the lumberjacks, some trees disappeared along with the blue sign, and the path was covered with twigs and branches. It took me a while to find the next sign.

I soon got to a resting place and ate and drank. The hot tea was wonderful!

The next section was a little harder to walk, also thanks to the lumberjacks. I had to pay close attention to where I was going. Luckily for me, everything was frozen hard.

A World War II cemetery next to a completely destroyed village. The houses had no trace left.

One last resting place before I reach Gánt. The rock that rises above it hides a stalactite cave full of hibernating bats in a winter dream.

There is also a riding school on the border of Gánt.

In addition, I visited a long-abandoned bauxite mine, I took a lot of photos there, but it will be another post.

To be continued!
