This Morning My Mother and I Made Green Bean Porridge (Bubur Kacang Hijau), an Indonesian Cuisine

This morning my mother and I made a dish. The dish is Indonesian cuisine. Namely Mung Bean Porridge (Bubur Kacang Hijau).

Of course the main ingredient is mung beans.

This food is usually sold early in the morning by the breakfast seller.

There are many kinds of porridge in Indonesia such as mung bean porridge, black sticky rice porridge (bubur ketan hitam), sweet coconut rice porridge (bubur sumsum).

My favorite porridge is mung bean porridge.

INGREDIENTS USED:

● 1/4 kg of mung beans
● Coconut milk
● Water
● Brown sugar
● Sugar
● Salt
● Pandan leaf

MAKING PROCESS:

Before cooking, the mung beans were soaked for a few hours. Last night my mother and I did it. The mung beans were placed in a large steaming pot, washed thoroughly by adding water and discarding it (was done more than once), then added water, then covered the top of the large steaming pot.

This morning was cooking mung bean porridge.

Water and brown sugar were mixed in a stewpan, turned on the fire under the stewpan. Became brown sugar solution.

Mung beans along with the soaking water in the large steaming pot cooked (boiled).

Added water. Covered the top of the large steaming pot.

For me, two bowls of mung bean porridge, one I ate some time after the mung bean porridge was placed in the bowl, the other I chilled in the refrigerator.

In my opinion, mung bean porridge is delicious to eat with various temperature conditions, even frozen is delicious hehe.
