Hello Guys!

This week I played my first Splinterlands Tournament and I want to share with you my experience and performance in the tournament.

I played in the Monday Madness Bronze league No Legendaries organized by Clove71, with an entry fee of only 1 DEC, that is, a tournament accessible to anyone. The only rules were the ones you might have already guessed: Bronze League level caps without Legendaries.

Olá a todos!

Essa semana joguei meu primeiro Torneio de Splinterlands e quero compartilhar com vocês como foi minha experiência e meu desempenho no torneio.

Eu participei do Monday Madness Bronze league No Legendaries organizado pela Clove71, com uma taxa de entrada de apenas 1 DEC, ou seja, um torneio acessível a qualquer um. As únicas regras eram as que vocês já devem ter imaginado: limite de cartas nível bronze e proibição de cartas lendárias.

Tournament's Rounds

The first round was a qualifier and I didn't have to play, I started from round 2.

I still hadn't thought about the format of the matches. Until then, I was thinking that any defeat would eliminate me. I got my first 2 wins apprehensively and only then did I realize it was BO3.

In the next round, my first loss straight away. Of course I didn't give up and got the comeback staying alive in the tournament.

From there, it started to funnel the players and in round 4 I faced the first Big Fish: a player with more than 14,000,000 CP and tournament experience.

Rodadas do Torneio

A primeira rodada foi qualificatória e não precisei jogar, comecei a partir da rodada 2.

Ainda não tinha me atentado ao formato das partidas. Até então, estava achando que qualquer derrota me eliminaria. Consegui minhas 2 primeiras vitórias suando frio e só ai percebi que eram séries MD3.

Na rodada seguinte, minha primeira derrota logo de cara. Não desisti, fui em busca do empate e consegui a virada, seguindo vivo no torneio.

A partir daí, começou a afunilar os jogadores e na rodada 4 enfretei o primeiro peixe grande: um jogador com 14 milhões de poder de coleção e com certa experiência em torneios.

Here I thought that maybe I was at my limit but surprisingly I won 2-0.

Apparently, CP doesn't say it all in a Bronze lvl tournament ;)

Despite winning, the battles were not easy and things only got worse.

In the next round, I faced another experienced player with a large CP. And once again I started losing.

My strategies were limited as I only had lvl 2 Earth Splinter's summoners and at this point in the tournament it would be very difficult to win with lvl 1 summoner unless I could accurately predict my opponent's move.

I tried my best to be unpredictable and alternating the lvl 2 summoners I had (Mylor and Obsidian) I got another comeback! And so, my access to the quarterfinals.

Here, my critical point in the tournament. I will share this battle with you.

Aqui pensei que talvez fosse meu fim, mas surpreendentemente ganhei de 2x0.

Pelo visto, poder de coleção não diz tudo em um torneio de nível Bronze ;)

Apesar disso, as batalhas não foram nada fáceis e as coisas só foram piorando.

Na fase seguinte, enfrentei outro jogador experiente, com um poder de coleção invejável. E mais uma vez comecei perdendo.

Minhas estratégias estavam bem limitadas, já que só tinha invocadores lvl 2 do Splinter Terra e nesse ponto do torneio, seria muito difícil ganhar com invocador lvl 1, a não ser que eu conseguisse prever exatamente a jogada do meu adversário.

Tentei ser o máximo imprevisível e alternando os invocadores lvl 2 que possuía (Mylor e Obsidian) consegui mais uma virada! E com ela, meu acesso às quartas de final.

Aqui, meu ponto critico no torneio. Vou compartilhar essa batalha com voces.

As regras do jogo só permitiam o Splinter Morte. De longe, o Splinter que eu tenho menos prática e que tinha menos cartas.

The rulset only allowed Splinter Death. By far, the Splinter that I have less practice with and that had fewer cards.

No começo, fiquei feliz por estar com a carta Undead Archer para impedir a cura do Haunted Spirit, mas ao mesmo tempo preocupado, já que os 2 monstros com habilidade Snipe do oponente iriam acabar com minha linha de trás, enquanto o Sha-Vi ficaria dando ataques em vão no Riftwing.

At first, I was happy that I had the Undead Archer to prevent the Haunted Spirit from healing, but at the same time worried that the opponent's 2 monsters with Snipe ability would destroy my back-line, while Sha-Vi would continue to attack the Riftwing in vain.

Ataques após ataques, meus monstros foram caindo e o Undead Archer não conseguiu aplicar sua habilidade Affliction em nenhum momento. Mas tudo bem, consegui derrubar sua linha de frente e só tinha restado uma fonte de dano pro meu oponente.

One by one, my monsters were falling and the Undead Archer couldn't apply his Affliction ability in no time. But oh well, I managed to take down his front line and there was only one source of damage left for my opponent.

Finalmente meu Sha-Vi havia entrado no jogo e tudo estava nas mãos dele, era uma questão de tempo. E foi assim que o Riftwing simplesmente usou toda sua esquiva e acabou com o jogo. Uma derrota amarga!

Finally my Sha-Vi would battle and everything was in his hands, it was just a matter of time. And that's how Riftwing simply used up all his dodge and ended the game. A bitter defeat!

Depois disso, eu consegui o empate, mas ele me counterou completamente na última partida e fui eliminado do torneio.

Uma coisa que percebi, não sei se foi coincidência, mas as regras das batalhas costumavam se repetir durante o torneio. Achei interessante porque isso força os jogadores a se adaptarem com o estilo do rival e tentar coisas diferentes para obter resultados diferentes.

After that, I got the tie but he completely countered me in the last game and I was eliminated from the tournament.

One thing I noticed, I don't know if it was a coincidence, but the battles' ruleset used to repeat themselves during the tournament. I find it interesting because it forces players to adapt to the rival's style and try different things to get different results.

I finished the tournament in 7th place, with 9 wins and 4 losses. Better than I expected for the first time, but still sad for the defeat.

Terminei o torneio na sétima colocação, com 9 vitórias e 4 derrotas. Melhor do que eu esperava para a primeira vez, mas ainda sim triste pela derrota.

I still won 100 DEC, which isn't much, but the important thing is that I had a lot of fun! I had moments of apprehension, exciting comebacks and a devastating defeat, but that's all part of it. I really enjoyed participating in this tournament and plan to enter others as soon as possible.

Ainda ganhei 100 DEC, o que não é muita coisa, mas o importante é que me diverti bastante! Tive momentos de tensão, viradas emocionantes e duras derrotas, mas isso tudo faz parte. Gostei muito de ter participado desse torneio e pretendo entrar em outros assim que possível.
