Huge mushrooms for the greatest inventor

Truth be told, I didn’t expect to be writing another post in my beloved #FungiFriday community by @ewkaw for good few weeks, as mushrooms are pretty scarce in my area at this time of a year, but this Universe never ceases to amaze me.

Last weekend was really sad for me for so many reasons that I can’t even comprehend how so many sad things can happen at once. Yet that’s how it always happens. ‘Good’ or ‘bad’ things always love to walk around in couples or rather teams.

To make things worse it was also a long weekend here and while I love long weekends, they really suck when you have nothing planned and there is too much time to think.

I had a choice - spiral down some more or do something to stop thinking. I chose the latter. I had loose plans to do soemthing with my friend and usually I’d postpone it till later, but on Bank Holiday Monday I messaged her already at 10am that I’m ready!

She wanted to run some errands aroudn the town first and then come to visit me, but I told her I’ll run errands with her. Anything to stop thinking!

Ahe turned up at my doorstep soon after and off we went to number of shops. Last stop was to pick up a space tack from someone on fb market and once it was done we googled walks nearby and found a little wooden area to walk.

Lo and behold - after just a few minutes of walking I spotted a few tiny shrooms poking through a tree stump.

They did their best to hide, but they couldn’t hide from my mushroom hungry eyes!

Cute little things.

I told Nunzia to look out for some more, as I’ve run out of mushroom pictures for my favourite community on Hive and I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t post much there anymore.

These 3 little cuties raally made me smile. I thought they would be the only guest of my today’s post, but since I talk a lot, it didn’t matter much, as long as I have models in between my talks.

But no! There were more!

I know, nothing exciting, but I was excited nonetheless.

At least here they are located on different trees, even if they’re the same type that I presented to you all in my previous post 😉

When we approached this sad, dry out bunch Nunzia was a bit surprised that these are mushrooms. Had I not seen and captured many of these in their prime, I’d probably walk past them too, not realising they’re mushrooms.

We found a few more of this type, hidden between the leaves and new growth.

We walked a few times through the bridge above the rails, as I wanted to make the walk longer, but truth be told, the paths were muddy and eventually we got bored of walking around the same ones over and over.

As we walked towards the carpark, I spotted the cemetary and asked Nunzia if we could walk there too. I know, I have a thing for cemetaries these days. I seriously can’t help it. They’re so peacefull.

We walked, as I was pouring my misery and regrets to Nunzia, when suddenly she pointed out to the weird structure on one of the graves.

‘It looks like a huge mushroom!’ she exclaimed!

‘That is fascinating indeed’ I said, as we walked towards the grave. I thought it was made of plastic of some sort and located there as a some sort of weird pot for pansies.

I captured it from all sides. I’ve never seen anything like this.

So complex, so entangled, yet perfectly in harmony with the pansies.

I admired all detail with my phone camera right in its face. Mesmerising…

Then another shot of the whole structure, before I decided to touch it and it turned out to have a spongy feel too it.

Just like… mushrooms indeed!

We stood there, no able to believe what we see. A beautiful group of mushrooms growing out in the middle of the grave, beautifully entangles with pansies.

How?

Why?

‘Isn’t it amazing that you really wanted to find mushrooms and yiu found them in the middle of the most unexpected place?’ She asked.

‘Weird’ and wonderfull things always happen when Nunzia and I go for one of our adventures. It’s like our combine vibe is perfect for miracles to happen. I totally didn’t expect any miracles on my low vibe day, but yet, here it is. We’re looking at it.

‘And doesn’t this name sound Polish?’ she asked and I looked up.

Some Polish letters were missing, but indeed I was looking at a grave of a Polish man.

‘The greatest inventor! Now I have goosebumps allover my body’ she said, reading out loud the inscription on the grave.

In my current mood I didn’t feel like any kind of inventor. More like a heartbroken, delusional looser.

The Universe sure has ways of cheering us up in the most creative and unexpected ways. Who knows, maybe there is still something for me to do on this weird planet in this lifetime.

I took one more look on the gigantic mushrooms structure.

Then I moved to the side of the grave and saw another engraved message. This one shoot straight through my heart.

Beautiful indeed, but it only reminded me of how delusional I was during those past 2 years.

‘I would send this to P.’ she said.

I won’t. I’m done being delusional. Some things are just not meant to be, no matter how it feels like the total opposite.

Some signs are just there to confuse us. Just like spring this year.

Flowers are popping up all around us, yet temperatures at night still around 4 degrees Celsius and I wear 2 jackets when I get up to work in the morning.

No matter the weather there is #alwaysaflower and sometimes even a mushroom! For that I’m grateful every day, even if I sound like I’m not 😉

Until next time 💙
