Greetings to my esteemed friends on the Deep Dives community, it's another day to stay tuned to the realities of truthful journalism and stand by the truth irrespective of the situation and the sentence involved. This is the reality of what Julian Assange the greatest journalist and publisher is facing for saying the truth about the illegal happenings the US and UK have done in the past. It's your friend @faquan saying hello from Nigeria.

One of the most outstanding epoch in the history of world journalism is the publishing of information contacting top secrets about the war crimes committed by the United States in Afghanistan and other parts of the Middle East.

This has come with severe consequences that have kept Assange in prison and have affected his health condition drastically.

My focus in today's post is to highlight the utmost reason why the US and UK governments are constantly raising allegations Assange and to encourage journalists that exposing governments top illegal secrets is worth doing for the sake of justice for humanity.

Julian Assange has waged a long fight against extradition from the UK to the US, and after years, a final decision is imminent. But when UN Special Rapporteur on Torture Nils Melzer was asked to look into his case in 2018, he found himself surprisingly uninterested. One allegation after another had come to cloud the narrative of Assange, liberator of state secrets. But Melzer has since investigated them all – and he discovered that the level of deception is staggering.Source

According to the above statement by Nils Melzer, the UN specialist on investigating torture, one can deduce that there's only one purpose for trying Julian Assange in the US and UK and that's is to deter future situations like that of Assange.

I believe that already many journalist who had classified documents and had intentions to publish those documents are current afraid of doing that because of situation Julian Assange is going through.

To me, this is the highest form of deception that can ever happen to investigative journalism. To achieve press freedom, someone must pay the price and Julian Assange have given every journalist the right direction to follow, but many are already scared of putting their lives in front for truthful journalism.

In January, the trial judge granted Julian Assange asylum for health reasons, which is a major victory for all believers of truthful journalism. Journalists around should follow the footsteps of Julian irrespective of the consequences to expose government's evils across the world, most especially the one's committed by the US and UK governments.

Free Julian Assange for posterity sake and bring truthful and investigative journalism to its desired height.
