I WOULD LIKE TO TEACH CHEMISTRY

Hi my lovely people,
I want to welcome you to my entry in response to the contest of week 51 edition 1 which focuses on the subject I would like to teach if I were to be in a school. My profound gratitude goes to the entire management for their consistency and resilience in ensuring quality delivery of this engagement weekly aslo for all of us participating may God bless us.

I am most fortunate as far as this theme is concerned simply because I had the privilege to be taught by an experienced teacher who became like a mentor to me and made me studied chemistry in my higher education level.

The subject I would like to teach if given any opportunity in a school is chemistry. It would be fine if I give a little background to what chemistry is and later share with you the reason why I chose that.

what's chemistry?

Chemistry is a branch of science that deals with the composition and reactions of matter. In the nutshell chemistry studies everything about matter. This implies that matter is anything that has mass and occupies a space which could either be liquid or solid or gas depending on the phase.

Chemistry is an aspect of science that every one performs either consciously or unconsciously. As long as you have a house to stay or being alive by default you're a chemistry hence doing chemistry as well.

In chemistry we have basically two changes that describes the nature of chemistry which are physical change and chemical change.
Physical change in chemistry are those kind of changes that can easily be reversed when a reaction occurs. It also retains its components at the end of the process. For instance when you put water in a refrigerator, after a particular temperature it will freeze and solidify to ice block. When you removed it and keep it for a while it will melt back to water . If you then boil it under a covered system it will change to vapour or gas which will be collected at the cover to return as liquid again. This is a typical physical process or change because water succeeded in changing phases from liquid to solid to gas whereas no new substance is formed.

On the other hand, the chemical process is not reversible, new substance is completely formed, it's affected by heat. For instance the burning of paper will produce ash, and carbon monoxide. These products can't be converted back to paper which clearly explained chemical change. Another example is the rusting of nail or mental no matter what you do you can't regain the substance after it has rusted because the amount would have reduced and the corrosion would affected the irons.

why I chose chemistry.

As I attempt to explain earlier, chemistry is life. The relevance of chemistry are very wide however I would like to highlight some which are;

  • Chemistry is a basic subject requirement to everyone that wants to study medicine.
  • In forestry, the knowledge of chemistry plays a vital role especially the inorganic chemistry where natural products are studied.
  • In cement production, chemistry has relevance.
  • There is wide application of chemistry to water production where water is treated for township use.

CONCLUSION

Chemistry is a way of life. It creates nature and a good environment where lives receives transformation.

Thanks .

Wow, my daughter needs a Chemistry teacher, come and bless her with your chemistry prowess. Hahaha. I did chemistry in school. I tried to cram part of it along with those formulas, haha. But you see organic chemistry? My teacher filling the board with equations that will never balance even if I borrow eyes to look at it. Hahaha. I adore you and any one who can teach a subject I will not dare to teach. Bring integrated Science, I will try. But chemistry, no. Am not available. Hahahaha

Wow....eya I wish your daughter is close by I would have dish out chemistry and by God's I doubt whether if I teach her she will fail her exams.

I took a home lesson two years ago a young teenager in SS one. The mother asked me to start from the scratch because this subject has been her challenge. After I spent some months with her, at the end I advised her to attempt WAEC immediately she got promoted to SS 2 she harken and the parent agreed.
She got B2 in chemistry, as I type this she is studying radiography in the university.

Chemistry is one of the simplest science subjects we have.
Anyway integrated science is the mother of all sciences at a level.

Thanks for visiting and really appreciate your comments.

Wow, where do you live? You are such an asset. Keep up with the good work. I wish we live close by, really

To some extent I still find myself confused in chemistry and I don’t who why, at times it might look simple to me but at times very difficult 😣 it can be confusing that’s why I won’t even bother to say that I want to teach chemistry 🤣🤣

Chemistry was one of my best subjects until organic chemistry was brought into the picture.
