THE ESSENTIAL THING TO SPEND ON.

Great hivers,
Happy New month and welcome to my entry for week 56 edition 1 which focuses on what to spend and what not to spend on even as a country.
To all participants I celebrate us and the resilience of the management of the community for bringing this engagement weekly is highly commendable.

Spending is like part of human life style because this is an inevitable thing. Spending is not a challenge but what you spend on is really what matters. Some of these spendings can be daily, weekly, monthly, yearly or pending as the situation unfold. As a family man, I make sure I spend every resources wisely because if it's wrongly done certainly it will backfire.

In the country where I live, spending is like a way of life especially for the leaders or those in authority. At times no one questions how, why such expenses are made therefore things are done anyhow without accountability. This makes things looks unorganised and affects the leadership system.

On a personal, I detest all forms of expenses that aren't important or has no significant role to play in the life of an individual. That's why some people feel I am very strict. It's cardinal for the role of scale of preference to take it's due course in everything especially when there so many competitive demands, a proper scrutiny should be made to ascertain the one that would give maximum satisfaction.

The essential thing I feel my country should spend on is Educational sector. Over the years this sector has been neglected and looked down upon as one of the poorest. Education is the bedrock of every society. Any society without education is like a land without foundation. I could remembered vividly how I spent almost a year at home when the federal government refused to pay University lecturers for a couple of months. We went on Strike action, during such periods the government never said anything and they were busy approving money for other unnecessary projects and sector.

Aside the university lecturers, most secondary schools teachers are under paid at state and local government levels. This contributes greatly to the moral decadence in education and the society at large. Consequently this has made the teaching profession look archive and not envious to young people. This makes most youth go for other courses like medicine etc . If the government would only revamp this sector, all unnecessary spending would have been avoided.

The government should not spend more on short term visions/goals instead of essential and valuable ones that has a gross trans generational impact. This will create a good premise for succession and adequate utilisation of resources.
Imagine a governor of a state instead of building a state he ended up misappropriating the funds and couldn't focus on the major needs of the people instead he bought vehicles, that after a while nothing was on ground. Even the so called road construction was not properly done .How would you just be deceiving people with pseudo projects. I kept wondering why would he be campaigning for a second term to be re-elected as a governor.

CONCLUSION

As I conclude, the essential thing that worth spending all is on the pursuance of education. This anchors lots of sectors under it. Education is more valuable for me than any other thing else.

thanks for visiting my blog.

This is very true. Education is a great opportunity for everyone and if there isn't much needed resources to grow the educational sector, students and lecturers would be affected. They say Education is the key to success but they aren't helping matter at all. When teachers and lecturers aren't paid salaries, they won't feel motivated or encouraged to teach or lecture and in the end, it affect students.

Spending is something we do everyday, it is not wrong at all, moreover, part of the reasons why we go in search of money is to spend , but what we spend the money on, is what really matters. We go through a lot to get money, seeing it is not found on the ground like dust. It is very expedient for us to spend wisely base on priority.

We spend inorder to survive, same applies to our governments we spend inorder to keep it growing but corruption has eaten deep into most governments, most individuals placed in authority are just there for their selfish interests . Imagine, how does buying or owing many cars promotes a government and helps the people? Is it not bad to have cars but when it's excess, it becomes wickedness.

Most government schools are lagging behind, if you visit some of them you would never pray to have any of your kids school there. Poor in almost everything, teachers that are supposed to be well taken care of, are left without salary sometimes, poor teaching materials and the classes are not even conducive enough for learning to take place. But these things are not the concern of those leaders. They forget that education is the key to success, with how things are going on, what kind of society are we going to have in the nearest future? Our ancestors sacrificed a lot to ensure that education stands but certain wicked individuals are quietly killing it. well , their children are schooling abroad, why will they even bother?

Hm! I believe that things will be better, no matter how dark the night might be, day must surely break.

The government is part of the reason students came up with the phrase "School na scam" because many who didn't go get more time to find a better job than students struggling with strike, difficulties to understand courses well as there are no good resources.

We can only hope that God help our Country to realize what they aren't getting right and do it well 🤦‍♀️

It is hard to see people who are willing to become a teacher and most people took the profession just because they don't have other options.

They are been under paid which is really unfair, Nigeria education system needs the be revived and I hope that happens one day.

I love the point about short time goals, the government need to put a stop on that because the masses doesn't benefit properly from them.
