Cost Of Living In Nigeria And It Cause.

There is nothing standard in living in Nigeria if compared to other countries that doesn’t have the same resources it has and are doing greatly well. The only standing you can stand is either you’re standing in the rich side or poor side. This is to show you how bad the economy has drop and how high the inflation rate has gotten.

Currently, the cost of living in Nigeria is so poor because even the minimum wage is nothing to write home about. In Nigeria, the minimum wage is set by the government and is revised periodically to ensure fair compensation for workers. As of 2021, the minimum wage in Nigeria is 30,000 naira per month, which is equivalent to approximately $25 USD. This minimum wage applies to most categories of workers in the country, including both public and private sector employees. However, it is important to note that some states in Nigeria have implemented higher minimum wages to reflect the cost of living in their respective regions. It is crucial for employers to comply with the minimum wage regulations to promote fair and equitable compensation for workers.

Some private firms pay their workers about the set minimum wage that the government has set. The cost of living in Nigeria can vary significantly between urban and rural areas, as well as across different states.

In major cities like Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, the cost of living tends to be higher compared to smaller towns. Housing is one of the major expenses, with rental prices varying based on location and the type of accommodation. Utilities such as electricity, water, and internet can also contribute to monthly expenses. I remember running away from Abuja when I was about to start a life a there due to the cost of accommodation.

Food prices in Nigeria can fluctuate, but overall, it is possible to find affordable options. Traditional Nigerian cuisine, which includes dishes like jollof rice, pounded yam, and egusi soup, can be enjoyed at relatively reasonable prices. However, imported or luxury food items may be more expensive. One thing that still hurts me is the increment of food price due to the rise in the price of dollar to Naira, currently the price of dollar keeps dropping but the cost of food and other services refuse to drop.

Transportation costs can also vary. Public transportation, such as buses and BRT, generally offer affordable options for moving within the city of Lagos. However, owning a private vehicle or using uber or bolt services may cost more.

Compare to other countries, I don’t know if my earning here will fetch me more things but if I was to compare it to my brother country (Ghana) it will definitely fetch me more. Things aren’t as cost in Ghana the way the are in Nigeria. Although, every other country are facing this inflation issue but they have a way to regulate the price and there is nothing like that in Nigeria.

If I have the opportunity to leave the country for another, for Ghana? Hmmm, yes I would. Japa. Although there are other better countries to live but I believe it will be easy to adapt faster in Ghana, their way of life is simple and they are quite accommodating.

Thanks for reading.
Note: I still love my country 😇✌🏼

What about coming to Malaysia O.O.

Same here public transportation quite good but I feel now owning can be quite expensive cause of gas , road tax etc. The tradeoff tho is the time and convenience and maybe not even the time since if there's traffic the light rails and mono rail trains would be better O.O.

This doesn't seem like a lot if you're in crypto. This makes sense now how I see there's many people from nigeria that can write on hive full time or maybe I'm wrong.

hopefully what I said makes sense lol. It's like 2am here so my brain kinda fried after just writing my own post a while ago

You got it really right. 😀👍 Its easy to make that amount on hive and some people even make more than that in a week which is making things more easier for people that have discovered hive. Hive is like a passive income for some which had made living in Nigeria a bit easy. Thats why you will see me in any giveaway cause the money will come in handy.

thanks for stopping by my blog

you have discussed that the high cost of living in Nigeria, Due to Low minimum wage rate there along with high inflation rate. it makes more challengeable to afford basic needs of life there. for your betterment of yourself relocate to other countries is a best option.

It even cost more to relocated to another state which is also another reason why people just have to struggle to get by daily. I have plans to move to another country but I am still thinking of the country that will be very accommodating to stay in.

🤣🤣🤣 Abena ooo
You sure you can farm🌚🌚
And I don’t think we have it better in Nigeria. Ghana cedis now has more value than the Nigeria Naira so like nhaji said, if she brings her money to Nigeria, she will turn to sugar mummy for us boys 🤣🤣
