Letting her go was the only way

Dave has never been a fan of love nor does he plan to find it, since the day he knew his left from right his parent has kept a very close watch over him because he was from a family that wouldn't want to relate too closely to the world around them.

The day he started talking, his dad introduced him to the family's illegal business. It was he was in high school he realized what his family business really mean and why his dad had always told him not to make any close friends. Since Dave was little he had always distanced himself from people, when he was 11 years old he brought home a friend and after the friend had left for his house, his father beat him so much he couldn't feel pain again. It was his mother that always nurse him back to health, she was a little afraid of him so she wouldn't do anything against his will.

Since that day, Dave never made any friends again.

"Hello, we would be having a new transfer student in your class. Come in miss and introduce yourself" his class teacher Mr. Daniel said. Dave wasn't interested to know who the person was but as he had the voice he had no choice but to raise his head and peep at who was talking.

It was a girl, she stood there with a smile on her face as she introduced herself to the class. She had long blonde hair, she wore a white polo top with a black jacket on it, her trouser wasn't too tight but it was fitted on her body but what got his attention was the melodious voice she had. As she talks, her voice was like the music he had never heard in his life.

After class that day, he got home and kept thinking about her. Who is she and why do I feel drawn to her all of a sudden? The next day during the lunch break, he was at his favorite table (Eat alone table) when he heard that same voice "can I seat with you while I eat" he raised his head and it was that same girl. He nodded his head in agreement, do you not have any friends? He nods his friend to an agreement, can we be friends then? He shakes his head in disagreement, and she asked again, are you dumb? He shakes his head then she asks again, are you dumb? It was then he looked at her for the first time eye to eye, facing each other.

He burst out laughing and she was surprised at this. Why would you ask such a question, oh he can talk she said, You didn't answer any of my questions with words except with gestures so I thought you might be dumb.

He kept looking at her, he then smile and asked "if I may, what is your name?"
But I introduced myself in class yesterday and I sat beside you.

Oh really, I didn't notice said, Dave. At that time, Dave was only listening to her voice and not her words but now that he listens to both voice and words, everything in his mind seems calm.

So I answered all the questions you asked but you won't answer the only one I ask, that isn't fair enough, Dave backfired.

Anyways, my name is Rose. Nice to meet you again. ROSE! That's a beautiful name Dave said, and from that day he made a friend. Days turn to weeks and weeks to months, and people in his class were still surprised he talked to Rose. He has been written off forever having any friends or chasing away anyone that came too close to him, yet he didn't bother to make any more friends in his class.

After months of happiness and experiencing a new form of life, everything was about to crumble when his dad found out about Rose. It was a rainy Saturday when Dave heard his dad call out his name so loud it sounded like thunder. He ran to his father's room as he would not want to keep him waiting, as he opened the door, the room was so dark he didn't know where his father was. He stood at the door and he heard his father's voice say again "Come in and lock the door behind you" he did as he was told and wondered where his father was. He had his guard up just in case of an unexpected attack. As the thunder struck and the lightning brighten up the room, he saw his father seating on the chair at the last corner of the room and in a second everywhere was dark again.

I know you have a friend who you have gotten close to and I'm happy for you, but I just want you to know that all you're doing is putting her in danger. Three things might happen for you to protect her. Firstly, you stop being friends with her, if you can't take that option then you have to transfer to a new school and start afresh or my competitors kidnap her trying to use it as a weakness to me which I don't care about. You have three guards in your class that are always watching you, a trained assassin so I'm not too worried about your protection but hers is less of a concern to me. I'm only telling you this because I love you as a father.

Dave went back into his room broken, for the first time he found true happiness in many years, he said it had to end like this. He would never do anything to break Rose's heart so he gave his dad his reply the next morning.

I would transfer to another school but promise me you would look after Rose even if it is one guard, let her have one, please. His dad agreed to it and the following day Dave stop attending the same school with rose cause he had to let her go for her safety.
