Respect Is Reciprocal!

Image source from @anttn article. This is my entry to the proposed prompt, I hope you enjoy reading it.

Human! Human!! Human!!!
When are we going to learn to respect each other? When are we going to accept the fact that the world we live in is all about "Give and take"

People want respect but are not ready to give it. Some people even believe that they can command respect and some even demand it because they feel they are older. I laugh at such a sentimental way of thinking.

You can't give bitterness and expect sweetness. It is what you give you will take back. Respect! A very powerful tool a leader can use to make an administration work to the best of its capacity. A leader that doesn't respect subordinates and wants them to respect him will always fail because he will demand the respect that he hasn't given. You know why Respect is Reciprocal.

A short story about myself.

I was privileged to be the class representative of over 600 students when I was studying for my National Diploma in Public Administration. I never acted like I was bigger or like I control the fate of other students. I serve the students like I was their servant.

Not like I did their house chores for them or run personal errands for them😂😂

I never look down on any of them when they need my help. Even the one that can be solved with common sense, people would still ask a question about it and I would have to explain. Sometimes I get calls at 11 pm when I'm about to sleep, sometimes I was on my bed sleeping but I would have no choice but to receive the call and attend to them.

Even when I'm talked down due to my position, I still answer them with respect and as time goes on, I became one of the most popular class representatives and the most respected one.

It's simple, for you to get respect you have to give respect because it is Reciprocal

This is a very nice example of the theme, respecting others would make others respect you, reciprocal is never a bad approach, it like real and just as it sounds, that is what it stands for, because of your good hearts of taking others roles ands assisting them in class, it gain's you something, which was popularity.

That's the world we live in, not every body understands this fact , some do but actually still choose to ignore it... everything you do would be done back to you one way or the other..sometimes I wonder if the older people were ever respectful to their elders because then they would've have to ask for respect, it'll just be given

Glad to see that you were indeed a model to emulate.. keep doing you bro ❤️

Thanks for stopping by.

And you're right.. Respect is just given when you earn it.. It can't be demanded.

You're absolutely right @fashtioluwa, respect is truly reciprocal, it's easy for more to get respect, all you have to do is give respect and you will surely get it back.

Nice writeup dear, I enjoyed reading this, it's a good thing you humbled yourself even when you had the opportunity to feel like the GOAT, lolz.

You cannot plant pepper and reap cucumber. When you show people respect, it gives you an edge.
That's it!
Well-done!

Thank you for your article and your testimony !

It is so true. I still can't understand how some people can expect something (like respect) without practicing it themselves ! I think it remains a mystery to me...

Unless we change our perspectives, I don't see any other way for them to get what they want :D

I really liked your text, simple, direct and effective !

Take care and see you soon ✌️

You're welcome !

I try my best, but in my experience, like you told also, nothing good arrive without reciprocity !

Take good care :)
