Lessons from the mass inductrination day 11 held on the 25th October 2021 via zoom
It was a great time listening to great teaching from bro Eli. A lot of lessons were learnt and I just want to share few from the lessons.
There is what we call vow which means you put an obligation on yourself, so you must do it.
It is not evil not to marry, just make sure you do as you vowed.
Numbers 30:2 KJV
If a man vow a vow unto the Lord , or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
The apostles also made vows.
Acts 18:18 KJV
And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.
Ecclesiastes 5:4-5 KJV
When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. [5] Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
If you make a vow, you should fulfill it.
2 Corinthians 9:7 KJV
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give ; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
In the church, you should not be dictated to on how much to give.
Each person is to decide on what to give.
Giving contribution should be according to your conscience.
Mark 12:41 KJV
And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
Philippians 4:15-17 KJV
Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. [16] For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. [17] Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
Thanksgiving is also another example of things we do voluntarily.
Praises, sacrifice of thanksgiving, doing good and giving voluntarily are the sacrifices we can give to God.
