Proceso Creativo // Creative process

Un viernes en la mañana, quede con la boca abierta al ver la complejidad de las ilustraciones de la plataforma provenientes de mi país Venezuela.

One Friday morning, I was left speechless by the complexity of the illustrations on the platform from my country, Venezuela.

La mayoría trataban de retratos femeninos con colores raros. Entonces, también queria unirme al trending.

Most of them were portraits of women with strange colors. I also wanted to join the trend.

Y por cusalidad paseaba por mis chats de Whatsapp hasta que me tope con esta foto de perfil que use como base.

And by chance, I was browsing through my WhatsApp chats until I came across this profile picture that I used as a base.

Hasta donde yo se, no pública en Instagram, por lo que no vi necesario compartirles su nombre y pedirle permiso a ella.

As far as I know, she does not publish on Instagram, so I did not see the need to share her name with you.

Paso a Paso // Step by step

Paso #1 El Boceto

Para iniciar realizó un cubo para determinar que espacio abarcara el dibujo en la hoja. Realicé un cubo, por que la cabeza esta en una pose compleja.

Step #1 The Sketch

To start, I create a cube to determine how much space the drawing will take up on the page. I made a cube because the head is in a complex pose.

Paso #2 Darle Forma

Tal como indica el título le doy forma al rostro, dibujo las mejillas, la frente, su nariz, sus labios y realizó unos cuantos trazos para saber donde ira el cabello.

Step #2 Give it shape

As the title indicates, I give shape to the face, draw the cheeks, the forehead, her nose, her lips, and make a few strokes to know where the hair will go.

Paso #3 Definición

Aquí me ocupo en detallar el rostro, remarcar los trazos del cabello para distinguirlo mejor, dibujarle los ojos y con las lineas ubicar donde iran las partes con luz y sombra.

Step #3 Definition

Here I focus on detailing the face, highlighting the hair strokes to distinguish them better, drawing the eyes with the lines to locate where the light and shadow parts will go.

Paso #4 El Carbon

Con el carbon delgado de la marca Faber-Castell, trazó las sombras y coloreo el cabello.

Les sugiero que cuando vayan a utilizar el carbon, empiezen tranzando (si dibujan con la mano derecha) del lado izquierdo de su dibujo al lado derecho.

De esa forma evitaran machar sus manos y su dibujo.

Step #4 The Charcoal

With the thin Faber-Castell charcoal, I trace the shadows and color the hair.

I suggest that when you use charcoal, start by rubbing (if you are right-handed) from the left side of your drawing to the right side.

In this way, you will avoid smudging your hands and your drawing.

¿Que les parece el dibujo? A mi me gusta, me genera cierta incomodidad, pero a la vez me intriga ¿que esta mirando para que haga esa expresión? ¿que lo roba el sueño formandole esa manchas negras bajo sus ojos? Pensar en eso también me robara el sueño.

What do you think of the drawing? I like it, it gives me a certain discomfort, but at the same time intrigue. What is she looking at to make that expression? What robs her of sleep by forming those black spots under her eyes? Thinking about it will also steal my sleep.
