Hi guys, I'm back with a new post about a visit I made in December to a shopping center to learn more about architecture in Bogotá. This shopping center was recently built in which it is located with beneficial accessibility, having the transmilenio system, which is land transport very close, the airport and having one of the most important road arteries.

Now I will tell you my opinion when visiting it. As I begin to get closer, the visual impact of the scale and aesthetics is amazing, through a catchment square we approach the access and we find different materials, shapes and murals. Upon entering I was struck by the fact that it does not have a false ceiling as we usually see them, they leave the electrical tubes exposed, such as the feeder and branch tubes, but they hide it very well by implementing a variety of organic elements with different shapes and also with the use of lighting. the way to use lighting through what is an architecture that applies today's trend, how to use LED strips, different types of lamps, aesthetics, and create different environments handling interior design very well. Another of the most impressive things was seeing how on the top floor the environment changes through lighting and interior design, creating another area of food outlets but with an exclusivity in design, each location also uses an interior design with a lot of identity that invites the user to meet each of them. And although I am not a great believer in the sustainability of the small giants, it seems to me that on the other hand they used elements for an avant-garde architecture.

From architecture to politics.

Theoretically, architecture can be built, but for it to be successful it is a more complex issue and has a lot to do with the cultural and social aspects of the user for whom it is sought to provide a service with architecture. This shopping center does not escape it, despite the virtues that I mentioned earlier this shopping center although the times I have been there are people, on the other hand it has the rejection of a part of the population because the owners are the sons of former president Alvaro Uribe, this character is currently still in the political cabinet although I don't remember the position and there are many people here who are upset and dissatisfied with his management and how inflation continues to rise in this country and with it life becomes harder and harder for him Colombian or ordinary immigrant.

Even in times of protests, this shopping center was wanted to be burned by its owners and as a protest, in the end nothing happened and it remains intact.

And this is how architecture has a defined lifetime according to the owners, the user to live it, the culture, the context and the politics. The latter reminds me of a story of the Humboldt hotel in Caracas Venezuela, it is a luxury hotel tower located on the Ávila hill, although it was and is a landmark of Latin American architecture, this hotel is more the time it has been closed than open because of the amount of problems of landlords and politicians in which he has been involved. Another work with a somewhat similar case is the Helicoide in Caracas, originally it was a shopping center implanted in a fairly steep slope, therefore this shopping center was going to be visited in the vehicle and it could be ascended by means of vehicular ramps, currently it is the headquarters of SEBIN, which is a police intelligence agency that is one of the most loyal to the military regime of the Venezuelan dictator, in other words, it is a very feared place since people who did have reasons, even people who just for thinking differently, have been imprisoned. a twitter, an idea, they have been trapped in that place of evil.

true, and it is still valid to improve? I thought visual storytelling would fill in the missing words
