Kira waited by the sink. Marion flushed and joined her washing her hands.

"Did he tell you about his pet rat?" she asked.

"His what?"

"He has a bloody rat! You know how I feel about rodents!"

Kira did know: Marion was not a big fan.

"Anyway, he brought the bloody thing down with him. Into my flat!"

"Oh," said Kira.

"Yes. Oh. But it gets worse."

"Worse?"

"Yes. He bloody lost him!"

"Shit. In your flat?"

"Apparently. I left him this morning searching for the bloody thing. They have no bladders, you know. Rats. Just piss the whole time. My flat is going to be full of rat piss."

Kira tried not to laugh. There was a shout from the bar, followed by a scream and something being knocked over. Kira and Marion looked at each other and then headed out of the bathroom. A woman stood on a table, Oddie and Jasper were standing nearby. Oddie was laughing, and Jasper had a smile on his face. In his hands, he held a struggling rat.

"I've found Art," he said, beaming.

"Great," Marion said.
