"Gopher" a fifty-word story written using the Freewrite prompt. A Humpuckle Tale (number 13)

At school, before The Incident, he was called The Gopher.

"Need something fetched? Dave'll go for ya!"

It wasn't a free service.

Brian befriended him when the enterprise made Dave rich and popular.

After the bridge, everything changed.

Dave lost friends, money and his mind.

Brian made sure of it.

This fifty-word story was written using @mariannewest's @freewritehouse Freewrite prompt "gopher"

This is the thirteenth 50-word story in my Humpbuckle Tales series.

Each Humpbuckle Tale is fifty words long and can be read as an individual story. However, if you read all the stories you will find that they are part of a much bigger story.

These characters have been named directly in another story and have both featured together in one other story (although they were not named and it was set in a different time: the characters were older).
