Estos ultimos dos días han sido un par de días en los que le hemos dedicado mucho tiempo y cuidado a la pequeña 🐱bola de pelos🐱, muy temprano por la mañana tuvimos que llevarla al veterinario, pero antes de contarles como nos fue en la visita al medico, les contaré el por qué tuvimos que recurrir a su veterinario de forma urgente🏥.

Por la tarde del día martes noté que "Baguee" cojeaba un poco de su patita izquierda, pero, como no era algo muy notorio no le presté demasiada atención, un par de horas más tarde notamos que su cojear era más pronunciado, de hecho, no apoyaba su patita y allí me preocupé. Mi esposa y yo corrimos a revisarla, notamos que tenía la pata hinchada y que le molestaba, pero no era una fractura o algo así. Al ser una gatita de abundante pelaje en ese primer instante no notamos el verdadero problema.

Pero fue muy evidente que se sentía mal, no quería su gatarina que tanto ama, y no tenía su naríz fría y húmeda como siempre, cuando la toque estaba más calientita de lo normal y pensé que seguro tenía fiebre. En ese instante quería levantarle el ánimo, así que la lleve a mi cama y le serví un poco de 🥛leche deslactosada, que a ella le fascina. Se lo acerqué y enseguida comenzo a tomar leche, se notaba que le gustaba, y eso me tranquilizo un poco.

On Tuesday afternoon I noticed that "Baguee" was limping a little on her left paw, but, as it was not something very noticeable I did not pay too much attention to it, a couple of hours later we noticed that her limping was more pronounced, in fact, she was not supporting her paw and that is when I got worried. My wife and I ran to check her out, we noticed that her paw was swollen and it was bothering her, but it wasn't a fracture or anything like that. Being a very furry kitty at that first moment we didn't notice the real problem.

But it was very evident that she was feeling bad, she didn't want her cat that she loves so much, and her nose was not cold and wet as usual, when I touched her she was warmer than usual and I thought she had a fever for sure. At that moment I wanted to cheer her up, so I took her to my bed and served her some 🥛lactose-free milk, which she loves. I brought it to her and she immediately started drinking milk, I could tell she liked it, and that calmed me down a bit.

Se quedó dormida💤💤 y en ese instante decidimos llevarla al veterinario, le escribí por whatsapp para confirmar que estaría trabajando, también para saber cuanto estaba la consulta y para confirmar la hora en la cual podía atenderla. Me respondió que la consulta tenía un costo de $10 USD y que la llevaramos a eso a las 9 de la mañana.

Metí su caja de arena adentro de la habitación, porque esa noche no la dejaría salir fuera (aunque creo que no lo fuese hecho), se volvió a quedar dormida en la cama, y ya cuando yo iba dormir, la acerque a mí para cuidarla por la noche. Pasó la noche dormida apenas se movió, no se queria ni apoyar un poco en su patita lastimada.

She replied that the consultation cost $10 USD and that we should take her at around 9 in the morning.

I put her litter box inside the room, because that night I would not let her go outside (although I don't think she was), she fell asleep on the bed again, and when I was about to go to sleep, I brought her close to me to take care of her for the night. She spent the night asleep, she barely moved, she didn't even want to rest on her injured paw.

Al llegar Baguee estaba super nerviosa, esperamos unos 5 minutos y nos atendieron. El veterinario, le revisó su patita y nos dijo que lo que tiene es una herida como si se hubiese clavado algo, un alambre o una pua, pero, ¿cómo saberlo?🤔🤔🤔

In the morning she was in better spirits🌤 and if she had a little more appetite, I assumed she was feeling a little better, but she still had a swollen paw and would not support it even a little bit. It was time to go to the doctor, so I improvised a "kennel" with a basket of clothes. And we went to the vet. One super positive thing is that her vet lives less than 100 meters away and we didn't have to walk too far.

When we arrived Baguee was super nervous, we waited about 5 minutes and they attended us. The vet, checked her paw and told us that what she has is a wound as if she had been stuck with something, a wire or a spike, but how do you know?

Le limpió muy bien la herida, le untó una crema y le inyectó un antinflamatorio. En verdad que es una bendición poder contar con el veterinario tan cerca, basicamente somos vecinos. Además fue el veterinario que le esterilizó, podría decir que con este especialista es con quien lleva una historia médica. Le mandaron un tratamiento que afortunadamente lo pude conseguir. Basicamente el tratamiento consta de un antibiótico, antiinflamatorio y una crema que facilitaría su cicatrización.

El veterinario nos facilitó el antibiótico, de modo que solo quedaba buscar y comprarle el antinflamatorio y la crema cicatrizante. El antiinflamatorio fue relativamente
facil de conseguir, el reto fue poder ubicar la crema, me llevó un buen rato, recorrí aproximadamente 5 tiendas de mascotas en Barquisimeto, buscando la crema, y al fina la conseguí.

He cleaned the wound very well, smeared a cream and injected an anti-inflammatory. It is really a blessing to be able to have the vet so close, basically we are neighbors. He was also the vet who sterilized her, I could say that this specialist is the one with whom she has a medical history. They sent him a treatment that fortunately I was able to get. Basically the treatment consists of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and a cream that would facilitate his healing.

The vet provided us with the antibiotic, so all that was left was to find and buy the anti-inflammatory and the healing cream. The anti-inflammatory was relatively
easy to get, the challenge was to locate the cream, it took me quite a while, I went to about 5 pet stores in Barquisimeto, looking for the cream, and finally I got it.

El antiinflamatorio lo conseguí por $2 USD y la crema por $3USD a esto le sumo los $10USD de la consulta y dió un total$15 USD. Gracias a Hive y a un pequeño ahorro pudimos correr con los gastos necesarios.

Ahora bien, ya se encuentra mucho mejor tiene más ánimo, le comenzamos el tratamiento como recomendó el médico, aun le duele su patita pero mucho menos. La apoya un poco más. Y como el veterinario nos recomendó que no se le fuera a parar alguna mosca para que no corriera el peligro de contraer gusanos. Decidimos no dejarla salir del cuarto por unos días hasta que tenga más sana la herida.

We decided not to let her out of the room for a few days until the wound is healed.

Gracias a Dios no fue algo más grave, aunque me dío mucho sentimiento verla sentirse mal y que no apoyará su patita. Sé que es mi animal de compañía, y que no es humana, pero la queremos como un miembro de la familia y que esté bien nos hace sentir bien.

Ya solo queda continuar y terminar el tratamiento como recomendó su médico. Ya les contaré como va su progreso.

Thank God it wasn't something more serious, although it made me very sad to see her feel bad and that she wouldn't support her paw. I know she is my pet, and she is not human, but we love her as a member of the family and that she is well makes us feel good.

The only thing left to do is to continue and finish the treatment as recommended by her doctor. I will let you know how her progress is going.
