Meta Layoffs, Greek Railway Scandal and March LPUD

These days i don't have much time to post but at the same time, i try to keep myself at least informed on what's happening around me. Sadly i have missed what has happened here on Hive and Leo this past month but i will catch up i believe.

So from what i see around the globe, 2 things caught my eye. The first one is the new layoffs that Meta announced, we are talking about 10000 layoffs in addition to the 10000 that occurred in November. on the one hand, this is pretty bad for the whole economy and for the people's lives in general but on the other hand, most of these people have already a great professional background and they will find more easily jobs than others.

Now the second thing that caught my attention was the Silicon Valley Bank literally had 100 billion dollars out in just 24 hours. A lot of scandals took place in that back, for example, the CEO sold million in stocks just 2 weeks before this happened. Also, from what i read and i don't know whether it's true or not, the bank had many pro woke initiatives which many considered a waste of money and as they say get woke, go broke.

The Railway Scandal

I don't know if you heard but around 2 weeks ago we had a socking "accident" in Greece where to trains, one with people and the other with supplies and stuff crushed together and around 57 people died and a lot more were hurt. The vast majority of these people that died were teens and college students.

That event made everyone furious because as more and more details came to light we all realized that everybody that had been on these trains for the past 20 years lived by pure luck. Except for the fact that the people responsible for checking the trains when moving were amateurs and got the position because of some politicians a lot of safety systems that should be working for at least 20 years that had been bought, were out of order.

At the same time throughout these past 4 years and even more, a lot of employees sent papers and reports saying that the conditions were unsafe and that something should be done otherwise people will die. Heck even some people with Managerial posts resigned because the higher management as well as the politician did not pay attention.

In fact even some other politicians from other political parties mentioned these papers and report to the government and the responsible minister said that the trains are completely safe and that everyone who says the opposite should be ashamed. Then a couple of days later 57 people died.....

This is so deep with so many different parties taking advantage of the situation and earning money at expense of everyone's safety that is nuts. I don't believe the people that lost their children will ever feel better, they will always have resentment towards that government and they have every right to feel that way and also i strongly believe that the government and everyone responsible will not face judgment.

We are living in very troubled times my friends...

LPUD Day

The only positive thing is that the LPUD of March 2023 is here and just powered up 300 LEO instead of 150. Now i have around 6800 Staked LEO and my goal is to get to 10000 by the end of the year. If have some activity i believe i can manage it!
