Re: Monster 2024 Episode 1 is Out + Manga/Anime Review

Yesterday to my surprise i realized that Re: Monster has been serialized and the first episode was already out. I don't know how many episodes will be out in total, i did some research and i couldn't find any relevant info. Hopefully, will be until it catches up with the manga which honestly i prefer it that way instead of the seasons type of thing.

Let's share some quick info about the Manga/Anime for everyone to know. First of all the studio behind it is called Studio DEEN which is known for Konosuba, Fate/stay night, Seven Deadly Sins, Rurouni Kenshin and a hundred more.

Now the plot is pretty straightforward as we are talking about another Isekai. This time the protagonist dies and is reborn as a Goblin and we get to see how he improves himself as a low-life goblin, how he gets stronger and in general his whole journey in the new world he is in. Re:Monster is one of the most popular manga out there and for many years i was wondering why it isn't an anime yet. If i remember correctly, as we speak it has 99 chapters out.

Now let me talk what i like and what i don't in general, not only in the anime, as only 1 episode is out but in the manga as well. To begin with the anime, the animation seems great, the acting, the fight scenes and such. My only concern is that they changed a bit the story. Not the main one, but some things that we get to see let's say after 15 chapters, we watch in episode 1 which one depicts the first chapters in comparison with the manga. I really, hope that they won't rush the story.

Now let's talk about the manga a bit. Reading the manga i enjoyed it but only to a certain degree. I don't like the fan service which many people do, so that's i think it's a preference and i also don't like how overpowered the protagonist is from the start. To give you a better idea and this isn't a spoiler or something, somehow he has an ability from his previous life that enables him to gain some of the properties and abilities of anything he eats.

So in episode one, he eats a snake, and boom, he has venom resistance and can also use venom. Let's say he eats a magic monster or magician he can use magic. As you can imagine this can make anyone quite OP which i really hate that to be honest, i prefer watching the protagonist struggles to improve.

On the other hand i really really like the evolving system. You see there is a system that when let's say you level up if you are any kind of monster, you can evolve to a better form of your initial spiece. You are goblin, you can become a hobgoblin. The interesting thing is that not only the protagonist evolves but basically mostly everyone around him which is pretty cool.

Overall, i hope that the anime will be good, if they don't rush it, it's not my cup of tea due to the protagonist being OP but it's still quite enjoyable and it already has millions of fans out there. So have you watched or read it already?
