Trying Elden Ring in 2024: A Sort Review

Hello everyone, i hope you are well. Today it's time for a different kind of post as i have "invested" a lot of hours in it the past few days. Having watched a lot of series and anime and having played a lot of games as well, i realized that my options are quite limited. Besides the fact that i only have a couple of series/anime that are currently ongoing and thus i watch 1 episode per week, there isn't anything else to keep me occupied.

I also really like playing PC games, not too many hours per day, and i really enjoy single-player games with awesome stories. So far i have completed the titles that i was more interested in. There are also 2 games that i want to purchase but due to the fact that these games were released 1-2 months, they are quite expensive for me.

Anyway, long story short i have a friend who is the opposite of me in terms of gaming. I prefer games that are not that hard to play, with a great story, sometimes better than a movie. He prefers games that are quite hard as he likes the challenges. In other words, he is a fan of the SOUL-Like games and has completed all of them.

On the other hand, i have never played a single one for obvious reasons. In case you are unfamiliar with these kinds of games, you need to take into account that these games are designed to be challenging and to make you die. In most of the games, there are traps everywhere, you can set from start a difficulty level and most of the times there is no map.

Also, most of the enemies can easily kill you and that means that every stat you level up, everything armor or weapon you hold, plays a crucial role. Do you see why i hate these games?

As i had no other games to play i tried Elden Ring out which can be as they say a bit easier like the other ones of its kind in essence. For instance, you get a map, hey it's something. So for the past few games i tried this game out, indeed you can easily die from literally anything. The story seems interesting though.

Also, it's cool that you can have many different classes, weapons, armor and spells and basically can become anything. I choose to be a wizard to hit from afar, just in an attempt to live longer! Also, because you can easily die in this game from literally anything i try to level up as much as i can and grind in order to deal more damage and have more chances.

Thankfully by playing this game in 2024 there are way too many guides with useful information all around. I don't know whether i will manage to play this game without letting it get on my nerves and delete it but who knows!

Have you ever played Elden Ring?
