What to do when you are out of Content

A couple of minutes ago i read a thread on Inleo from @anonymous02 which is why i will tag him here as well, regarding what to when you can't think of new content. First, of all, if you have any ideas feel free to either make a comment below or click above the "tread" indication to visit anonymous thread and reply directly to him!

Now as someone who is 7 years here and has created hundreds to thousands of posts on this platform alone, i believe i can get that feeling and can also provide some suggestions and ideas. To begin with, nowadays content has many forms and hive has evolved around it as well. I remember the first years everything was about long posts, but things have changed. Your content can be from simple treads to only photos or videos. It doesn't have to be 1000-word posts.

I now as i said firsthand how hard can it be to post either everyday or let's say 2-4 times per week a little something and it can also be quite draining as well. Also, i know that you can feel frustrated sometimes with your rewards as your content may be better than many people's but your rewards could be way less but that's a talk for another day.

Now first of all you need to understand that every content maker has times like this one it really applies to everyone so you are not alone you just need to find the ways that work for you best and below you can all see some of my suggestions and ofc feel free to write any additional ones in the comments below.

Scroll Through Hive/LEO

If you ever feel stuck you can easily scroll and check other people's posts here in Hive/Leo or even simpler you can check through people's threads. You can find a lot of different topics that can give you either new ideas, or you can basically write the same post but providing your perspective as well. Note that i am not saying to copy/paste everything others write but let me give you an example.

I remember once, someone created a post regarding what you can buy with 10$ or 100$ in your country. So he wrote his post and that made a lot of people to either comment saying the same but for their countries instead, or simply create new posts with a lot more information which honestly was quite cool for example to see how much a banana or chicken can cost in Europe and in Africa.

Literally, that's the case with my post. I scrolled through Inleo, saw the thread and what you asked and game me an idea to write a whole post than a small comment as there is quite some content on the said topic.

Use other Social Media and Websites

Even though, in here you can find a lot of content, you can easily check other Social Media or Websites to get fresh ideas. Hive/Leo has a certain user base but other social media for example have millions of people using them. That means more posts and thus more ideas. It's not bad to scroll a little bit there and see something interesting and then create a post or thread here with your perspective.

Interact with People

Interacting with people is an asset. Not only do you learn new things but you can get a lot of different ideas for new posts. interacting doesn't mean to simply make a comment here. It can be talking via threads, or even talking with friends, colleagues or family, a lot of great content can be acquired through that form of interaction.

I personally, had many post ideas after interacting with friends or with people here on Hive. In fact, i remember stating on my comments, that thanks to you and our dialogue i have a new idea for my post tomorrow!

Watch Videos

If you are bored or simply don't feel like doing the above, you can simply watch videos on any platform and who knows something can be born. There are countless videos out there for basically everything and thus a great way to acquire new content ideas!

Change your Content

The Hive ecosystem doesn't limit you, you have complete freedom and that's the awesome thing. If you were working as a content writer most likely you will be tied to write on a specific matter. Here it's the exact opposite, you can write whatever you feel like. Even if you write about let's say economic related matters, you can easily make your next post about something that occurred in your everyday life, a funny story, something that you ate, something bad that happened etc etc. You can make videos if you want to, or upload photos, the possibilities are endless!

Take some time off

Sometimes you just need to take some time for yourself and relax. Creating content, interacting with people and the platform itself even though it's awesome it can be tiresome depending on your daily program and how many hours you invest here.

You can relax, sleep, go out with friends, renew your batteries and come back fresh after a day or even a year, it doesn't matter as long as you feel good. If you clear your brain with something else then it will be easier for you to write something new as well.

I remember myself being for months quite active in hear, meaning i was making an over 500-word post per day plus i was one of the top in rankings related to interaction and commenting for months. I was here 6-7 hours per day and it was like having another full-time job which was quite tiresome as you can imagine.

I managed to do that for almost a year and then decided to step back for a couple of months and due to my limited free time i posted once a week to once a month. After a while when i renewed by batteries the percentage changed again, i am posting 3-4 days per week and i haven't felt like i don't have something to write about!

Overall, as you can all see most likely if you keep creating content, you will come face-to-face with the monster that's called "I have no freaking idea what to write or create", but at the same time thankfully, you are not alone and there are many different ways to beat that monster, it has many weaknesses you just need to find which one you prefer better!

Wow thanks for this! How resourceful are you to come up into this topic and it is really helpful. Happy 7 years for you, cheers! 🥂

I know that you can feel frustrated sometimes with your rewards as your content may be better than many people's but your rewards could be way less.

Hey this is one of the reasons why I am always lazy to write, I feel that I wrote a good blog but get less rewards compared to people who share a not-so-good content. It just discouraged me to write haha.
