After Facebook rebranded itself as "META" everyone has gone crazy to know how this new technology will shape the world. It is definitely the future of social media, gaming, and basically, everything that comes in between or Beyond. It's a universal technology and with enough creativity, it can become anything we want it to be. Businesses now have the opportunity to reinvent consumer experiences and change the way how they design their product and services. Metaverse possesses endless opportunities for everyone to collaborate with each other and grow.

Yes mate. I am quite hopeful for Splinterlands. Right now the price is hovering between $200-$250. Seems like a great time to buy. :)) I will try sweeping another by the end of this month.

Lol I like this part, I was actually thinking about this the other day, if am not mistaken I mentioned it in a recent post I wrote about digital vs physical assets.
I like the fact there's no maintenance for owning digital land and of course no troublesome tenants to deal with each time its time to pay off.

Isn't it better dealing with codes than humans?

Haha. I feel you mate. It's definitely better to deal with code. But I like humans too. Code makes our lives easier so that we can have meaningful quality interactions with our loved ones. Not waste time on-call or 1-on-1 with so many different people for work.

Land sounds very lucrative but I don't really think the land will be that important. Could you get an edge? Yes, it could but once VR/AR takes off, won't there be as much land as people want to generate? Sure games could make it finite but I think that lowers down what the user can do within that game.

I think what's going to happen is the same thing that's happened in web 2. Platforms will mostly dominate. Anyone will be able to create anything just like you are free to go create a website and hope someone comes to it. But if you want to find people, the easiest way is to go where people are already. Where they already have a reason to be.

Just like opening a restaurant in a tourist area instead of in the middle of nowhere.

You also go to where services and infrastructure are that you can benefit from. Where arbitration can take place if needed. A place where a DAO has already set the rules that you know you can live and thrive within.

We like structure. We like profit. We like to be part of communities. And part of the attraction to these communities starts with scarcity. Fear and greed and finding your place before someone else takes it.

That's why I think land will matter.

It could if that was the main Hub for the world but I don't really think many of them will. At least the metaverse hype itself right now doesn't really show me that it has that potential. The issue I see is that the land themselves is linked to a project.

Right now everyone is trying to do the same things in anticipation of some future demand. Every project has land and at least one token. I think in time 90% those will fail.

To keep credibility(and for ease of development), many projects will ditch the strategy of having their own land and token and will just exist inside someone else's economy/world that's already popular and trusted.

Over time I think a lot of the elements of various digital worlds/games will combine and we won't think too much about them being connected to one project. It'll just be a place you go with all sorts of stuff happening. Especially for the kids who after just a few years will have no memories of this being psyberx and this being Splinterlands and this being decentraland. Its just a place they've always gone to do various things.

If you can grab land in one of the winners, it's going to be quite valuable. But most will go to zero.

I am buying Digital Land in the hope to see its price appreciating in the future when more use cases are developed. Scarcity helps in price rise but you are right, it also negatively affects the players' and investors' interests.

I have an interest in virtual land too. Right now the closest thing known to a virtual hand is my Dcrop farm and that doesn't even count.

Splinterlands land isn't wallet wrecking expensive but they cost a pretty penny and I think the last time I did some research I found that they can only be bought from second parties coz on the game they are all sold out. I don't know if there's an update on that.

Lands are a big deal. I think sometime last year a plot of and on Anxie infinity got sold for up to a million dollars. It was the biggest sale yet.

You are right, they can be bought from Hive-Engine or from WAX's marketplace.

I have heard about insane Land sale stories too. That is why I am so much interested in them. Right now the PLOT in splinterlands is at its lowest price in months which is why I grabbed one. Save blogging money and buy one if you can.

I wish all of this landlording was automated. Finding someone to rent my Decentraland plot for instance means knocking on doors to make sure I get paid still.

I wonder if they'll ever go the way of games and have it built in? Probably not until Ethereum gets their act together. With unpredictable fees, an automatic rental market is hard to set up.

In Splinterlands renting is mostly automated. You just have to list your land and someone will automatically pick it up for the duration they want and rent will be credited to your account. A similar thing is going to be implemented on all platforms.

All ethereum platforms are going towards gasless model or adopting L2 like Polygon. But you are right, Ethereum's fees need to go down. 😂

Decentraland adopted polygon for player created wearables almost a year ago now but not for anything that already existed in the world like land, older wearables, or even newly minted names. That's all still stuck on ETH. Plus you have to pay eth fees to get your mana off eth and onto polygon or back to Eth from polygon.

I've been waiting for Eth to fix their gas problems since 2017 when Cryptokitties broke them and they promised a fix was right around the corner.

Not holding my breath. !LOLZ

I think a lot of these platforms might just die by their choice to set up on Eth but I really hope it doesn't come down to that as there are so many better chains they could port to.

I'm pretty familiar with the Splinterlands rental system. It would be amazing if other platforms did that. But again, eth...

Sorry mate but you and I in the same boat. ETH is not going to see any major reductions in gas fees anytime soon. They keep pushing their transition to POS. :D

This is why I don't play most of these games, only invest in the rare NFTs with use cases. I think Sandbox is doing a better job than Decentraland. Have you tried it? If you do more than 1 transaction a day on ETH, you will get burned. I also look for other projects on Polygon where GAS fees is low. Checkout Blocktopia if you can.

I don't think they are ever going to make the transition. I think them, Cardano, and Solana are all on borrowed time. I've always kind of thought Eth is going to have one more insane hurrah higher and then people are going to realize its unsustainable nature and its going to sell off and never come back. Many projects will stay on it but its growth will fall off and it will become dwarfed as the industry moves on and grows.

I have looked at sandbox a little and I agree they are doing a better job. They've attracted more of the gaming community and celebrities which is going to be important. Decentraland is currently museums and one-off events. I should check out some other platforms but I got to Decentraland first and I just haven't had the mental bandwidth to deep dive any other ones.

Awesome brooo!!! If you have money to buy one then I would suggest going for Splinterlands PLOT, it's quite cheap right now. Might go down even further since the land gameplay is still a year away.

Haven’t looked into this at all, but I understand some can have great earnings on land / playing the games. Another great example of earnings in other levels.
I leave it for the others… but still nice to read up about it once in a while.

To much people can invest in so much nowadays, it is wise to choose though, the ones that are near your heart and you can fully support.
Games and the likes is not for me. But there are so much other great opportunities out there.

You can do it mate! Just check out Sandbox. They provide tools to create 3D NFTs that you can sell in the internal market or on Opensea.
