Bear Shouldn't Stop You From Learning!

Bear is upon us or maybe just a teaser! It's not the first time & definitely not going to be the last time. The worst thing we can do during a bloodbath is to keep checking on the value of our investment portfolio. BTC is down 50% since Jan 2022 & Ethereum (ETH) is almost -40%. The one thing I know for sure is that this will change sooner or later. With time, we should be way back up than before. The best thing is to ditch portfolio tracker apps from your smartphones as suggested by @rob23 and start learning something new.

The first step to being wealthy is to acquire a skill. Skills come with the knowledge that can be acquired by reading books, watching videos, and listening to podcasts. Just choose the medium you like and get on it. Bear markets are best to design and work on your skill portfolio too. Consistency will always be more important than perfection. The probability of winning in the next bull market will be ZERO if you run away during the shitstorm and do nothing.

What Am I Doing This Bear?

I am working on the following skills to make the most of this time:

  • Reading & Writing: When you write, you have the chance to put your best foot forward. It's a valuable skill that gets better when you do it consistently. It changes you & your perspective when you do it daily and make it your ZEN habit. Reading habit is great for the development of your writing style. You can pick some crazy ideas for your own writing. Since I love crypto and use social media as my tool to publish blogs, I am going to read two books in the upcoming months - "The Bitcoin Standard" by Saifedean Ammous and "The Infinite Machine" by Camilla Russo. Want to read it with me? Comment below!
  • Time Management: Honestly I suck at it. These days I hardly get time for myself. That makes me feel tired quite often and I tend to miss important tasks of the day. It's essential to relax and rejuvenate in between to avoid burnout which I will start to practice soon. Also, a little planning for the next day has to be a part of my daily routine. Otherwise, I am not going to make it.
  • Twitter: It is the best place to reach out and connect with the wider crypto community. I recently created Documenting Hive Twitter account in addition to my own. Do follow them for some Hive & Crypto awesomeness. If you are not there, you are missing a lot of good stuff. It also makes you a good writer because it makes you think. There is a character limit and you have to tell a lot in one or two sentences. I also use it to follow several copyrighters who provide juicy tips on topics like writing (copywriting), productivity, and time management.
  • SEO: Audience comes organically via SEO and stays for 'good content. I am currently watching some tutorials on the topic to learn more about it. Side by side, preparing for my next project - @leoseo. There will be an introductory blog on it very soon. But this is one special thing I am going to learn this year. Have been avoiding it all my professional life but not anymore.

Right now it feels like I am dipping my hands in too much stuff. But it's all a part of getting better at Digital Marketing, Content Creation & Crypto. These skills go hand in hand and complement each other.

We all have good and bad days but that shouldn't stop us from learning. Knowledge will make you a tough badass to handle the bad days. To keep going! What skills are you picking during this bear? Comment below!

Well, I also am thinking of working on digital marketing in grabbing some skills. Let's see if I could cash that in.

That's 100%, correct mate. Need to keep our heads down and keep going. That's the only way, no matter what.

There is so much out there and I think my time management is kind of bad. It takes time out of my sleep schedule to keep up with all my activities here on Hive. I think I'll go as I read and learn from there.

Haha, I can understand. There's so much going on Hive. Only going to get bigger with each cycle.

Multi-tasking is generally bad for productivity. I try to limit myself to a few important tasks but sometimes go all over the place. Time management is an issue for me as well.

Oh, I didn't realise that Documenting Hive on Twitter was you.

It looks so much more professional than the hiveblocks account.

Great work!

Haha. Thanks for the great compliment Dane. Hiveblocks is great but it needs to be more active. Should push out 5-6 tweets & interact with others daily to keep the engine going. There must be a person full-time managing it.

Let me know if you are interested to contribute in any way to @documentinghive. Like you can give suggestions, feedback, or tips to make it better and more fruitful for the Hive community.
