PeakD - The First Hive Frontend To Implement Verified NFT PFPs!

Welcome to the new era everyone!

@Peakd did something that other frontends couldn't. We now have a verification system in place on its UI using NFTs. For now, it is available only for @punksonhive collection launched by @themarkymark. As per the announcement, more NFT Projects will be added in the future. This is just a pretty start! 🚀

Earlier this year, Twitter launched a new feature to allow users (from select few countries) to show off their NFTs on their profile pictures in a Hexagon shape. I even wrote a post asking the Hive community why we still don't have such a feature on any Hive frontend. I even tagged various UIs in my tweets but nobody replied. 😂 I am so glad that Peakd did something exactly that is needed. NFTs is a Gen-Z thing and we need more of them on Hive to create even greater buzz. This is a step in the right direction. @khaleelkazi, launch LeoLegends as soooooon as possible. 🦁

Flex Your Punks

Now we have a place to showcase the NFT we own with a beautiful green 'verified' checkmark that shows the authenticity of the account as well. I don't own any punks but I saw @sanjeevm updating his PFP on Peakd. This is how it looks:

When you hover your mouse over the checkmark, you see a link to view the NFT and it takes you the Punks On Hive website where you can see all related info. There should have been a "Make an offer" button or "Buy Punk" button if it is already on the market with its price. But that's okay, they can always go to the marketplace on the website to check out what's available.

For now, there are two ways to set your Hivepunk PFP on Peakd - Use PeakD Hivepunks feature or the official Hivepunks website.

If you own any punks, just flex them now! 🙃

Possible Future of NFT PFPs on Hive

PFP-based NFT projects are taking over the world by storm. It's a new era of profile pictures. Peakd has set a great starting point. As per Marky, other frontends will have the same functionality. We can do a few more things to take it forward. Like, I would love to see support for NFT PFPs from other chains like Ethereum, Solana & Polygon. Twitter does it well with its hexagon shape profile pictures that are verified NFTs on these chains. I don't know if you can create a collection without any coding knowledge. 'Mint NFT Collection' functionality on UIs would make it easier for creators to launch their art. This would also serve as a great tool for them to monetize their work. Usage of HIVE as a currency to sell or buy NFT PFPs on the spot (from the UI) should be added. Another use case won't hurt.

There are so many things we can do in the NFT space. It would be great to see Hive as a favorite blockchain for creators all over the world to launch their collection on a fast & feeless blockchain.

This is really cool, when @themarkymark announced it and @peakd also did, I tried verifying mine but it didn’t work. I hope the issue gets resolved soon for me.

I saw the change but I don't really think it applies to us if we aren't using the HivePunks as our avatar. Either way, I think it's a good change and it can be applied more to than just Hive Punks.
