Memory and Storage crisis and prices

I wanted to buy an external drive so I checked prices in online website. I was surprised to see that the prices for these drive safe gone up by 2x to 3x. All this has happened because of the memory and stores prices increase happening globally and the companies that are manufacturing the stories are taking the benefit sighting the region that all this is happening because of the artificial intelligence technology since this is the technology that has increased the demand for memory.

You can see the comparison of prices in below chart which is generated by ai but the market price increase is based on facts. Roughly is the prices have gone up by 2x and 3X in last 2 years and this is why the devices like phone laptop and some other devices that use memory are getting expensive..

This is a particular dry which I was looking to buy this it is from a reputed brand and the price is really 3x of what I have seen last properly a year a maybe 2 year back which I am not really sure because this a kind of product I do not check or track regularly.

Almost 3 years back I had SSD drive from SanDisk and that price was 8000 when I purchased and today that price is also gone up significantly and all this is because of the current shortage of memory in the market. Earlier in Indian market it was possible to get a decent phone at the price of 10000 rupees but now that is not available anymore and hardly any phone you can get in the market at this price which will surely will not be good and would also have basic hardware.

For now I am putting pause on my dry purchase because it's not really necessity for me at this point and if needed I can think up buying a 500gb drive instead of 2tb but for now that is also not a plan. I have read some news about this and looks like this problem is not going to be resolved soon however I also got to know that illegal petition has been filed against 3 leading global companies that are manufacturing memories and storage but this process will be long and we don't even know what the outcome is going to be.
