A "Reprise" @ The Sandbag House

How wonderful to welcome diners back to The Sandbag House. A reunion of sorts as one of them had joined us before.

As always conversation, connections of people and place abound. It's both a McGregor, Rhodes and Grahamstown thing.

I know my foodie blogpals want to know about the menu:

As we joined our guests for the meal, I took no photographs of the plates, but I offer snaps of the table and other accoutrements.

Whether this - Sunday Suppers @ The Sandbag House- happens regularly in the future, is in the lap of the gods. Last evening's diners would like to make it an annual thing. One had planned to after his first experience in 2019.

Then, 2020...

We're happy to oblige and look forward to 2022. Perhaps more diners, more often, will make their way up that garden path (and where the grass is, at last, growing).

We look forward to a reprise of last evening with Andrew and his colleagues, and who all, we hope, left as friends. As he did, two and a bit years ago.

Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:

  • re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
  • and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.

I have to agree with you. Once we get off that treadmill, getting back on takes a lot of work to feel the same once again.

It really looks lovely.

You can do it! ❤️

So lovely to see again, after it being such a staple for so long. Though I'm sure you're absolutely exhausted today, but hopefully in the best way possible after a job well done. :)

I am. Done! That said, under the right circumstances I will insanely do it again...

At least a lot of the detritis from the marmalade, pickle, etc. production line had to get properly packed away... lol

The table setting looks so beautiful, congratulations, I hope you can repeat it soon. The menu seemed delicious, and I had to make my little research on malva pudding because I have never tried it. ;)

Welcoming new and known visitors must be exciting, noted you a bit tired, not used to preparing after such a long break.

As always beautifully presented, obviously a fine time had by all, let us hope a start to a better new year soon.
