Proof is in the (olive) eating
Last night I opened a pot of this year's pickled olives.
A little early, perhaps, but I wanted to use them for a salad with green beans. I am thrilled with the result! Especially considering this is only the second time I have done them. Admittedly, I paid them more attention!
I made a second, mixed salad and the two, together made a great antipasti with the beans and olives on top of the leaves.
The salad preceded with a homemade duck egg pasta through which I stirred olive oil and fresh parsley and topped with peppers and mushrooms. Served with a local parmesan style gouda.
I forgot the marjoram or oreganum. I have only just realised, so we clearly didn't miss them.
Oh, and I shall have jars of olives for sale at the market from Saturday.
Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:
- re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
- and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
- From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

Oh this looks so yummy! Olives are always a winner with any dish. I really need some of those olives!
Thank you! I only learned that when I growed up! You can get them at the McGregor market on a Saturday! #justsaying 🤣
I really need to visit there! I always drive past there and never stop. Next time! And yes, olives are adult snacks! For some reason haha
Good. You just take the turning that takes you through the mountains towards the sea... Look forward to that!
We surely live in a slice of heaven right? I am up north in Gauteng for a while but things on this side are dead and warm. There in the Cape life is just different, at least for me.
You know, I lived in Joburg in the mid-80s to early 90s. I loved it. I missed the energy and the buzz when I left. That said, I'd not exchange my little cabbage patch for city living again! Life is definitely different in the Cape!
Same here, but I could never really grasp or hold onto the chaos and buzzing. My most creative thoughts come from the ocean breeze and the smell of flowers in the mountains!
